HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
Holy Cross toppled No. 10 Boston College, 2-1 in overtime, to complete the first-ever series sweep of the Eagles in program history. Alexia Moreau assisted teammate Kenzie King with her game-tying goal, which forced the game into overtime against No. 10 Boston College. She then netted the game-winner, on her own, to lead the Crusaders to their second program win and first-season series victory over the Eagles.
UConn swept a pair of league games over New Hampshire and Maine, ending the 2024 calendar just two points out of first place. Kyla Josifovic scored both game-winning goals while Claire Murdoch set up each of the decisive tallies
Reigning National Goaltender of the Month Lisa Jonsson pitched a 17-save shutout in a 2-0 victory at New Hampshire, marking her fourth shutout in her first eight career NCAA games. She has the best goals against average (0.88) and save percentage (.967) in the country.
Vermont closed out the 2024 calendar with a 2-1 win over Merrimack off the back of 23 saves from Jane Gervais and Evelyne Blais-Savoie’s team-leading fifth goal of the year.

Kyla Josifovic - UConn
Kyla Josifovic (Jr., F; Burlington, Ont.) recorded the game-winning goals in
both of UConn’s wins this weekend. The junior forward was involved in both
of the Huskies goals in Friday’s 2-1 win at UNH, assisting on UConn’s first
goal and scoring the game winner late in the third period. Josifovic followed
with another game-winning performance on Saturday, recording her third
straight multi-point game in UConn’s 4-3 overtime win at Maine. She assisted the Huskies opening goal and later scored the game winner in overtime,
her fourth game winning goal of the season.

Claire Murdoch - UConn
Claire Murdoch (Fr., F; Toronto, Ont.) recorded an assists in both of UConn’s wins this weekend. Murdoch set up both game-winning goals at New
Hampshire and Maine, helping UConn to a perfect weekend before the
break.

Jane Gervais - Vermont
Jane Gervais (Sr., G; Valcourt, Que.) made 23 saves and registered a .958
save percentage in a 2-1 road win over Merrimack, securing her fourth win
on the campaign.
STOP IT GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Lisa Jonsson - Northeastern
Lisa Jonsson (Fr., G; Stockholm, Sweden) pitched a 17-save shutout in a
2-0 victory at UNH. Jönsson now has four shutouts in her first eight career
games. She leads the nation with a 0.88 GAA and .967 save percentage.

Sammy Taber, BC (So., F; Tewksbury, Mass.) Finished the weekend with three points on two goals and an assist in a split weekend at Providence and Holy Cross.
Olivia Maffeo, BC (Fr., D; Canton, Mass.) Scored the game-tying goal in an eventual 4-2 win over Providence that helped BC come back from a 2-0 deficit.
Riley Walsh, BU (Jr., F; Duxbury, Mass.) Netted the game-winning goal in a 3-1 win at Maine, blocking two shots.
Keira Healey, BU (Fr., D; Arthur, Ont.) Assisted on BU’s first power-play goal in a 3-1 win at Maine, her third NCAA assist.
Tamara Giaquinto, BU (Gr., D; Toronto, Ont.) Potted BU’s first goal at Maine on the power-play and blocked three shots. She leads BU and Hockey East in power-play goals with four.
Callie Shanahan, BU (Sr., G; Commerce, Mich.) Made 25 saves on 26 shots in a 3-1 win at Maine to finish the first half with a career high in wins and an overall record of 9-4-1.
Ava Rinker, UConn (Sr., D; Elverson, Pa.) Registered assists in both UConn wins this weekend. The senior defender assisted the game tying goal in Friday’s comeback win at UNH. Rinker then assisted the game winning goal at Maine in overtime, helping UConn to a perfect weekend before the break.
Tia Chan, UConn (Sr., G; Hamilton, Ont.) Made 27 saves in UConn’s 2-1 win at UNH. Chan followed with a 24 save performance in UConn’s overtime win at Maine on Saturday.

Kenzee Hope, HC (Fr., D: Kelowna, B.C.) Scored her first career goal just a minute and seven seconds into an eventual 3-2 overtime setback to Merrimack. She also made two blocks on the weekend.
Taylor Cantelon, HC (Jr., D; Oakville, Ont.) Had one assist on teammate Lane Lewis’s goal at Merrimack.
Abby Hornung, HC (Jr., G; Ashland, Mass.) Earned an overtime win over No. 10 Boston College and making 26 saves at Merrimack in a 3-2 overtime setback. Against the nationally ranked Eagles, she made 38 saves and helped the Crusaders to their second program win and first season series victory over the Eagles. On the weekend, she made 64 saves for a 1.94 goals-against average with a .941 save percentage.
Adriana van de Leest, Maine (Sr., F; Kelowna, B.C.) Picked up four-point weekend, setting up each of Maine’s goals in two-game set against nationally ranked opponents No. 13 BU and No. 15 UConn.
Kendall Sundby, Maine (Fr., D; Hammond, Wis.) Scored two goals and added an assist in a two-game set against nationally ranked opponents No. 13 BU and No. 15 UConn. She now leads all Hockey East rookies with three power-play goals.
Éloïse Caron, NU (Fr., F; Saint-Hyacinthe, Qué.) Posted a goal and an assist for her third career multi-point game in a 2-0 victory over New Hampshire. Caron scored the game-winning goal with under five minutes to play in the game.
Sedona Blair, UNH (So., G; Eden Prairie, Minn.) Stopped 52 of 55 shots for a .945 save percentage and a 1.54 GAA in games against Northeastern and 15th-ranked UConn last week. Blair stopped 26 of 27 shots she faced against NU, a 2-0 loss with an empty-net goal, including all six shots on four Northeastern power plays, and made 26 more saves in a 2-1 setback to UConn.
Evelyne Blais-Savoie, UVM (Sr., F; San Jose, Calif.) Scored the game-winning goal for Vermont to secure 2-1 win over Merrimack. She added to her team high in goals (5) while putting four shots on goal and won 53% of face-offs taken (8 out of 15). Has scored against Merrimack in four straight seasons, totaling six career goals when playing the Warriors.
Hailey Eikos, UVM (So., D; Brooklyn Park, Minn.) Tallied the opening goal in a 2-1 win over Merrimack, her third goal of the season and a new career high. She has now scored in back-to-back games for the first time in her career and has three points in four games on one assist and two goals.
Lara Beecher, UVM (Jr., F; Buffalo, N.Y.) Notched her second multi-assist game of the season, earning an assist on both Catamount goals in a 2-1 victory over Merrimack to go along with four shots on net. Now has a team high seven assists and another team high, 10 total points on the season thus far.
