Women's Weekly Release: Boston University and UConn to Battle for Regular Season Crown
Final Weekend of Play Set With Much to be Decided

HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES

Boston University and UConn are set for a two-game series that will decide the 2024-25 Hockey East regular season champion, as the Terriers and Huskies are separated by just five points entering the final weekend of the season. UConn looks to repeat as regular season champions for the first time in program history while BU seeks its first crown since 2012-13 and third all time.

Holy Cross completed the first-ever season sweep of Vermont in program history, using two game-winning goals from Reghan Chadwick and 52 saves from Abby Hornung to stay in the hunt for home ice in the Hockey East Opening Round. The Crusaders need at least one point and some help to secure the eight seed.

UConn, Boston College, Providence, and Northeastern are all locked in a battle for positioning in the quarterfinals. While UConn has secured home ice, the other trio are jockeying for the final two hosting spots and are separated by just three points.

Maine and New Hampshire are in the running for a bye into the quarterfinals, separated but only one point with two games to go. If Maine can secure the at least an equal number of points as UNH this weekend, the Black Bears secure a spot out of the Opening Round.

Tickets to the 2025 Hockey East Women’s Championship game can be purchased online at UConnHuskies.evenue.net/events/WHE. The game is set for Saturday, March 8 at Toscano Family Ice Forum and will be broadcast live nationally on ESPNEWS.
