Disher Tabbed as Top Rookie, Karjalainen Best Defender, Levy Is Honored Goaltender

HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Alina Mueller - Northeastern
Graduate, Forward; Wintherthur, Switzerland

Mueller finished second in the NCAA in points (16), game -winning goals (2), and points per game (2.29) in seven games in February. Her 42 shots were eighth in the nation. Mueller had two hat tricks in February, including one in a Hockey East Quarterfinal victory over Merrimack. In the quarterfinal win, Mueller tied the Hockey East record for single-game points in a playoff game with five, set the all-time playoff point record in the league (30) and tied Kendall Coyne Schofield’s Northeastern program record with her 249th career point.

PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE MONTH

Brooke Disher - Boston University
Defender; Fort St. John, B.C.

Disher led all Hockey East first-years with four goals and six points in seven February games. She wrapped her rookie campaign with 23 shots on net in the final month to go along with a plus-one rating. She was named to the Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team on Feb. 22.

ARMY ROTC DEFENDER OF THE MONTH

Sini Karjalainen - Vermont
Graduate; Posio, Finland

Karjalainen collected Army ROTC Defender of the Year accolades on Feb. 22. In six games in February, she lead all Hockey East defenders with nine points while her eight assists were tops in the NCAA as was her 1.50 points per game. She enjoyed three multi-point outings and ended the month on a three-game point streak.

STOP IT GOALTENDING GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH

Abigail Levy - Boston College
Graduate; Congers, N.Y.

Levy backboned Boston College to the Hockey East semi- finals for the first time since 2019 with a stellar February. She led Hockey East in shutouts (2), save percentage (.960) and saves (242) on the month while finishing second in wins (5) and third in goals against average (1.44). Her save percentage and 242 saves were third in the nation and her save percentage was ninth. She stopped at least 30 shots in all seven of her starts.
