HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
Boston College began its season with a series sweep of New Hampshire, led by five points (4g, 1a) from freshman Gabby Roy (Marshfield, Mass.) Roy is the first player, men’s or women’s, with four goals in their first collegiate game since at least the 2011-12 season and the first women’s player to record four goals in the first game of the season since at least the 2011-12 season. She is also the fourth BC rookie in the last four years to record a four-goal game (Hannah Bilka, Daryl Watts, Delaney Belinskas).
Holy Cross earned its first win over Maine in program history on Saturday. Sommer Ross (Cumming, Ga.) netted two goals in a weekend split, including the game-winning goal in Saturday’s 3-2 win over the Black Bears.
Maine’s Ida Kuoppala, ME (Pedersore, Finland) scored three goals at Holy Cross over the first weekend of the 2020-21 season. She registered a twogoal game in a 3-2 Saturday afternoon setback.
Providence carried a 1-0-1 record against UConn to open its 2020-21 season. Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden) posted two points on a goal and an assist for the Friars while Sandra Abstreiter (Freising, Germany) stopped 54 of the 57 shots she faced.
UConn’s Savannah Bouzide (Amherstburg, Ont.) buried a pair of power-
play goals in an official 0-1-1 weekend for UConn and added a shootout
tally on Sunday to help the Huskies to the shootout victory.

Savannah Bouzide, UConn (Sr., F; Amherstburg, Ont.) Buried a pair of power-play goals in an official 0-1-1 weekend for UConn and added a shootout tally on Sunday to help the Huskies to the shootout victory.
Tia Chan, UConn (Fr., G; Hamilton, Ont.) Made 33 saves on 34 shots in her collegiate debut on Sunday, including six stops in overtime. She also denied each shootout attempt from the Friars to backbone the Huskies to the shootout win.

Brooke Becker, PC (Fr., D; Orchard Park, N.Y.) Scored the first goal of her career and added an assist to help Providence to a 1-0- 1 weekend series mark over UConn. She fired four shots on goal and finished with an even rating.
