Box Score

Boston, MA.-- The Merrimack College men's ice hockey team eked past the Northeastern Huskies with a 4-3 victory in their final regular season game that the Warriors will play at Matthews Arena on Saturday night.

Merrimack (10-13-1, 6-7-1): 4, Northeastern (9-11-3, 4-8-3): 3

In the first period, Merrimack jumped on the board first as Tyler Young's shot was knocked out to Ethan Bono who skittered the puck past the Northeastern goalie to take the lead. Northeastern tied the game with 20 seconds to play in the period, with a powerplay goal.

In the second, Merrimack re-established their lead quickly as Josef Mysak's point shot off a face off win found the twine, less than one minute into the frame. The Warriors added an insurance goal on the powerplay as Seamus Powell would be patient with the puck in the left circle before snapping the shot home at 6:02 of the period. The Warriors added their fourth of the evening and final of the period as Caden Cranston crashed the net, and scored in the blue paint as he fell to the ice.

In the third, Northeastern got a lifeline as they scored in front just past the halfway point. The Huskies would make some nervous moments in the final minutes as they scored with the goalie pulled, but the Warriors locked it down from there to hang on and get the victory.
