CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sammy Taber's early second period goal proved to be the game winner as the Boston College women's hockey team topped No. 3 Clarkson, 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles and the Golden Knights traded chances for the first half of the first period before Julia Pellerin scored off a Clarkson turnover with nine minutes left in the period. Clarkson tied it up with 40 seconds left before heading into the first intermission.

The Eagles took back the lead during a power-play opportunity where Sammy Taber put away the winning goal 20 seconds into the second period.

In the second period, the Golden Knight had a 3-on-5 opportunity, that they could not capitalize on giving the Eagles a 2-1 advantage heading into the final frame.

Gaby Roy netted the Eagles' third goal of the game late in the third period to seal the upset victory for BC.
