PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College women's hockey team came from behind to defeat No. 10/9 Quinnipiac, 3-2, on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Schneider Arena in Providence, R.I. With the win, the Friars improved to 4-2-0 on the season, while Quinnipiac dropped to 4-2-0. Friar forward Sarah Davies (Mississauga, Ontario) netted the game-winning goal with just over five minutes remaining in the third period, marking her first of the season.

GAME FLOW & NOTES

-Kendall Cooper opened the scoring for the Bobcats with 19 seconds left in the first period, assisted by Kahlen Lamarche and Maya Labad.

-The Bobcats extended theird lead just 1:14 into the second period with a goal from Emerson Jarvis assisted by Lamarche.

-Providence responded at 10:10 of the second period when Reichen Kirchmair (Oakville, Ontario) scored on a backhand to cut the deficit to 2-1. Hannah Johnson (Readfield, Maine) and Hannah Clarke (Richmond Hill, Ontario) provided the assists.

-Kiara Kraft (Churchville, N.Y.) tied the game for the Friars 10:46 into the third period, redirecting a shot from Josie Lang's (Stillwater, Minn.). Lilly Martinson (Allen, Texas) also picked up an assist on the play. Kraft is now tied with Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point, Wis.) for the team lead with four goals.

-With just 5:01 remaining in the third, Sarah Davies (Mississauga, Ontario) scored the game-winning goal for the Friars - her first goal of the season and first as a Friar. Kirchmair and Cristina Cavaliere (Mississauga, Ontario) tallied assists on the play.

-Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) finished the night with 34 saves, matching her career-high.

-The victory marked Providence's third consecutive win at home to start the season, the first time the Friars have achieved this feat since the 2020-21 season.

-This win also marked Providence's first victory over a ranked opponent since Jan. 27, 2024, when they defeated No. 13 Boston College, 3-1.
