BOSTON - The No. 13 Northeastern women's hockey team fell to the No. 10/9 Quinnipiac Bobcats, 3-0, on Saturday evening at Matthews Arena.
With the loss, the Huskies split their home-opening weekend against the Bobcats.
- Each side posted eight shots in a scoreless first period. The Bobcats then took control in the second, scoring twice to take a 2-0 lead into the third.
- Quinnipiac closed out the scoring with an empty-net power-play goal at the 18:39 mark of the third period to bring the final to 3-0.
- Senior Paige Taborski finished with 23 saves. Junior Kristina Allard, junior Jules Constantinople and senior Skylar Irving tied to lead all players with three blocks.
- The Huskies outshot the Bobcats, 28-26.
Northeastern will next open Hockey East play against Boston University on Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
