TROY, N.Y. - The Holy Cross women's hockey team split the season opening series at RPI with a 2-0 loss on the road.


BETWEEN THE PIPES:

Holy Cross: Brooke Loranger (L, 1-1), 18 saves
RPI: Reese Keating (W, 1-1), 19 saves


HOW IT HAPPENED:

- RPI got on the board early with a goal by Andrea Trnková at 5:54 for the 1-0 lead to end the first period.

- In the second period, Trnková converted on the power-play at 9:51 to extend the Engineers lead to 2-0.

- Neither team scored in the third period. The Engineers took the 2-0 win over the Crusaders

- Holy Cross led RPI 45-40 in shots and the Engineers had the 37-11 advantage in face-offs to conclude the competition.
