NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.- Four skaters recorded a two-point night en route to the Northeastern men's hockey team completing the weekend sweep over Merrimack with a 4-1 win on Saturday night.
- After a scoreless first period, the Warriors would score their only goal of the game just 2:10 into the middle frame.
- Kicking things off for Northeastern was senior Alex Campbell with a bury on the doorstep to tie the game 1-1. He was assisted by freshman Dylan Hryckowian and sophomore Vinny Borgesi.
- To take the lead, 2-1, with 7:42 left in the second period sophomore Jack Williams teed up fellow sophomore Jackson Dorrington for a one-timer on the stick side of Merrimack's goaltender. Sophomore Cam Lund would pick up the secondary on the goal.
- The Huskies would add two more unanswered goals to their lead in the third period. With his second goal of the night, Campbell banked the puck in off his chest to record his 100th career point. Dylan and Justin Hryckowian would collect the helpers, marking Dylan's second of the night.
- With 1:44 left in the game, Lund buried an empty-net goal to wrap things up and secure the 4-1 victory for Northeastern. Williams tallied his second assist of the night, while senior Gunnarwolfe Fontaine collected the secondary.
- Freshman netminder Cameron Whitehead finished with 25 saves in 60 minutes of action,
- Graduate student Pito Walton led both teams with three blocks, while captain Justin Hryckowian led all skaters with 20 faceoff wins.
The Northeastern Huskies will next face Boston University on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at Matthews Arena. The game will start at 6:30 p.m. and can viewed on ESPNU.
