BOSTON, Mass. - Led by a three-point effort from freshman Dylan Hryckowian, the Northeastern men's hockey team battled to a 3-3 tie with #3 Quinnipiac on Saturday evening.
- Despite the early 1-0 lead taken by Quinnipiac, the Huskies battled back to tie the game 1-1 in the first period. With a two-man advantage, assistant captain Vinny Borgesi potted his second of the season from the point, assisted by Dylan Hryckowian and senior Gunnarwolfe Fontaine.
- Similar to the opening frame, the Bobcats took back the advantage to start the second period, but it was short lived as Northeastern evened the score, 2-2. With their second helpers of the night, Dylan Hryckowian and Fontaine created an opening for assistant captain Jack Williams to bury his tenth of the year.
- Before the middle frame wrapped up, the Bobcats would tally another to carry a 3-2 lead into the second intermission.
- Northeastern continued to push back throughout the final period. Following their efforts, the Huskies once again tied the game, 3-3, with 11:30 left in the third frame. After captain Justin Hryckowian intercepted an attempted pass by Quinnipiac, he sent Dylan Hryckowian down ice for a short-handed breakaway to tally his third point of the night.
- Both teams would remain unsuccessful in breaking the tie during regulation and overtime to finish with a 3-3 score.
Northeastern is back on the road this upcoming Tues., Jan. 9th as they travel to Agganis Arena to take on the Boston University Terriers.
