PITTSBURGH, Penn. - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team dominated Robert Morris University in Saturday's consolation game of 'Battle at the Burgh' by a score of 6 to 2.

Despite Robert Morris striking first, the Black Bears rallied to dominate the rest of the game, putting up six goals past Colonials netminder Maggie Hitch. Ann-Frederique Guay, Ida Kuoppala and Elise Morphy each had a three-point game. Ann-Frederique Guay led the team with two goals and one assist, as she opened up the scoring for the Black Bears, picking up a lose puck in front in the first period. Fifth-year forward Ida Kuoppala notched assists on both of the first two goals before she scored Maine's game-winning goal in the second period on a coast-to-coast rush. Elise Morphy tallied three assists, one being on Kuoppala's game-winner.

The Black Bears' three other goals came from Mira Seregély, Mikayla Boarder and Raegan Wurm. Seregely's goal came on the loan power play opportunity for Maine.

Freshman forward Lily Fetch picked up two assists on the evening, each on linemates Boarder and Wurm's goals. Freshman defenseman Sophia Johnson and sophomore Ava Stevenson also earned one assist apiece in the win.

Maine went 1-for-1 on the power play and 1-for-2 on the penalty kill.

Freshman goaltender Julia Bachetti played her second game of the weekend between the pipes, making 24 saves on 26 shots for Maine. The Black Bears outshot the Colonials 53 to 26, for a season-high record.

"It was a great trip. I'm proud of them," said head coach Molly Engstrom. "We knew Colgate was going to be a tall task. To be able to match up like that and see what kind of a game you need to play to be in the top-5 in the country is invaluable. We knew we'd learn a few things and we did, from both contests. I'm grateful for the players' commitment and attitude and looking forward to the second half."
