HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
Merrimack swept a two-game set with Vermont, getting both game-winning from Alex Jefferies. The sophomore forward scored three goals on the weekend and helped to put the Warriors with two points of first place in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings.
Ryan Tverberg continued his torrid pace, collecting the first four-point game of his career on Saturday in a 4-2 win at UMass to help UConn earn a series split. The sophomore forward scored once and dished out three assists.
Historic rivals Maine and New Hampshire split a weekend series at Alfond Arena in Orono. The Black Bears secured a 6-3 win on Friday, getting points from 10 different players and two goals from Lynden Breen. The Wildcats bounced back the next night to take a 5-2 victory off the back of Alex Gagne’s one goal and two assists.
UMass Lowell and Providence traded wins in a home-and-home set. Captain Lucas Condotta scored a goal and tallied an assist in Friday’s 3-2 win over the Friars. The next night, PC jumped out to a 3-0 lead and held on to win, 3-2, behind 32 saves from Jaxson Stauber.
TJ Semptimphelter allowed just one goal in two of his three games this
week, a 1-0 loss in the Beanpot Championship and a 4-1 victory over BC.
He won the Eberley Award for the highest save percentage in the Beanpot
tournament, .972, the fourth-highest in tournament history.

Ryan Tverberg - UConn
Alex Jefferies (So., F; Lunenberg, Mass.) scored a trio of tallies, including a pair of game-winners. He put one home 1:13 into the third period Friday, which stood up in the 3-2 win. He then scored on the power play late in the third, then notched the game-winner in overtime to lift the Warriors to the weekend sweep of the Catamounts.

the Huskies captured their ninth
Hockey East road win, knocking
off UMass 4-2 for a weekend split.

PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Alex Gagne - New Hampshire
Alex Gagne (Fr., D; Bedford, N.H.) registered one goal and two assists for
three points on Saturday in a 5-2 win at Maine. His goal was the first of his
collegiate career and the outing was also his first multi-point game of his
career.
HOCKEY EAST DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Isac Jonsson - UMass Lowell
Isac Jonsson (Fr., D; Angelholm, Sweden) dished out two assists and finished the weekend with a plus-two rating and two blocks. He currently leads
the team with a plus-11 rating and is third on the team in total blocks with
24, which is good for sixth in the conference in blocks by a freshman.
HOCKEY EAST GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Vinny Duplessis - Boston University
Vinny Duplessis (So., G; Quebec City, Que.) stopped all 19 shots he faced
in the Terriers’ 1-0 triumph over Northeastern in the Beanpot final. Several
of his 19 saves were crucial to keep the game knotted at zero off of Grade A
opportunities by Northeastern.
HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS
Dylan Peterson, BU (So., F; Roseville, Calif.) Broke a scoreless tie with 2:46 remaining in regulation to help BU win its 31st Beanpot title.
Domenick Fensore, BU (Jr., D; Thornwood, N.Y.) Assisted on Dylan Peterson’s Beanpot-winning goal, making a great defensive play to clear the puck out of the zone and set up the winning rush. Fensore generated three shots on goal as well.
John Spetz, UConn (So., D; Oak Ridge, N.J.) Recorded a goal and an assist in the Huskies 4-2 win at UMass on Saturday night.
Darion Hanson, UConn (Gr., G; East Bethel, Minn.) Went 1-1-0 on the weekend, capped by a 35-save night as the Huskies posted a 4-2 win on the road at UMass. Outside of two goals in the first 1:03 of the second period, Hanson held UMass scoreless the rest of the way for his 17th win on the season. He stopped 33 on Friday night, keeping the Minutemen off the scoreboard until the third period. On the weekend, he stopped 68 of 72 shots faced.
Lucas Condotta, UML (Sr., F; Georgetown, Ont.) Scored a goal and tallied an assist in Friday’s 3-2 win over No. 19 Providence. He also registered two blocks across the two-game series and finished the weekend with a plus-two rating.
Brehdan Engum, UML (So., D; Burnsville, Minn.) Scored a goal on Saturday for the River Hawks in a close battle with the Friars. He finished the weekend with four blocks and leads the team with 41 on the year.
Zach Vinnell, MC (Jr., D; Cochrane, Alta.) Had a pair of assists on the weekend, including the primary assist on Steven Jandric’s game-tying power play goal Saturday night against Vermont. He also notched a primary helper on Ben Brar’s first period goal Friday at Lawler Rink.
Jakov Novak, NU (Sr., F; Windsor, Ont.) Was one of three Huskies on the week to tally three points, with one goal and one assist. He notched the third goal in a 4-1 victory at BC on the power play, and assisted on the eventual game-winning goal to DeMelis in the 2nd period. Finished the week plus-one through three games.
TJ Semptimphelter, NU (Fr., G; Marlton, N.J.) Despite a 1-2-0 record on the week, stopped a total of 75 shots on 81 attempts for a .926 save percentage and a 2.00 GAA. Allowed just one goal in two of the three games this week, a 1-0 loss in the Beanpot Championship and a 4-1 victory over BC. He won the Eberley Award for the highest save% in the Beanpot tournament, .972, the 4th-highest in tournament history.
Tyler Ward, UNH (Sr., F; Kamloops, B.C.) Posted two goals and four assists for six points during a weekend split at Maine. He contributed on all three goals in a 6-3 setback on Friday with one goal and two assists. Ward then tallied another 1-2--3 stat line in a 5-2 victory on Saturday.
