HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
Northeastern claimed its sixth Hockey East Regular Season crown on Saturday with a 3-2 win at Vermont, moving to 18-1-1 in league play on the year. The victory secured the top seed in the Hockey East Tournament for the Huskies.
UConn toppled Providence and Boston College, earning home-ice advantage through at least the quarterfinals in the Hockey East Tournament in the process. The Huskies can now finish no lower than fourth in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings.
New Hampshire’s Noemi Martinez made 74 saves in a pair of victories over Merrimack and No. 13 Holy Cross, vaulting the Wildcats into sole possession of fifth place in the Hockey East standings. Danika Botterill posted a team-best three points to extend her point streak to three games (3g, 2a).
Merrimack split a weekend series with Providence and New Hampshire. Warriors’ goaltender Adreanna Doucette made 39 saves, including 22 in the third period, and allowed just one even-strength goal in a 3-2 victory over the Friars on Saturday.
Maine’s Kiia Lahtinen posted a 17-save shutout and Stephanie Jacob scored two goals in the Black Bears’ 2-0 victory at
Boston University on Saturday.
BOSTON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lily Shannon - Northeastern
Lily Shannon (Sr., F; Andover, Mass.) posted two goals and two
assists for four points in a 2-0-0 weekend that saw Northeastern
clinch the Hockey East Regular Season title. In a 5-1 victory against
Maine, Shannon posted a three-point performance off two goals and
one assist including the game-winning goal. In a 3-2 overtime win at
Vermont, she tallied one assist. She finished the week with a plus-two rating and two blocks.
PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lily Prendergast - Vermont
Lily Prendergast (Fr., G; Hanover, Mass.) earned her second career win
and first career shutout with 18 saves against Boston University in Thursday’s 3-0 win. She stopped 26 shots in a 3-2 overtime setback to No. 5
Northeastern on Saturday, her first time making back-to-back starts and
helped Vermont go a perfect 10-for-10 on the penalty kill.

Olivia Maffeo - Boston College
Olivia Maffeo, BC (So., D; Canton, Mass.) Scored two goals, including a game-tying goal late in the first and the overtime winner, in a
4-3 win at No. 13 Holy Cross on Friday. She added seven shots on
net and a plus-two rating. The outing was her second straight with
two goals and pushed her point streak to five games (6g, 1a).

Noemi Martinez (Jr., G; Glen Ridge, N.J.) on both games for New Hampshire against Merrimack and No. 13 Holy Cross, lifting the Wildcats in to fifth place in the Hockey East Standings. She stopped 41 of 43 shots in Friday’s 4-2 win over Merrimack, including double digit saves in each period, before kicking out 33 of 35 shots she saw from No. 13 Holy Cross.
Lisa Jonsson (So., G; Stockholm,
Sweden) posted a 2-0-0 record and
guided Northeastern to a Hockey
East Regular Season Title. Jönsson
posted 69 saves over two games
with a .958 save percentage and
1.48 GAA. She improved to 13-0-1 in
Hockey East play.
HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS
Ava Thomas, BC (Fr., F; Downingtown, Pa.) Recorded one goal in the Eagles’ 6-2 setback at No. 6 UConn, accounting for BC’s lone even-strength tally in the contest. The freshman forward finished the week with two points (1g, 1a).
Megan Woodworth, UConn (Sr., F; Berwick, N.S.) Helped UConn to a 2-0-0 weekend over Providence and Boston College, recording two goals and two assists while totaling 10 shots on net. On Friday, Woodworth helped secure a 2-1 overtime win over Providence, assisting the game-winning goal. On Saturday against Boston College, Woodworth registered her first career three-point game, scoring two goals, including the unassisted game-winning goal.
Maya Serdachny, UConn (Jr., D; Edmonton, Alta.) In a 2-0-0 weekend, she recorded game-winning goal Friday in overtime and posted six shots on net and two blocks.
Tia Chan, UConn (Gr., G; Hamilton, Ont.) Backboned UConn’s to a 2-0-0 weekend, making 70 saves on 73 shots. In Friday’s 2-1 overtime win, Chan only conceded once, making 25 saves. On Saturday, she turned in her fifth game with at least 40 saves, stopping 45 in a 6-2 victory.
Stephanie Jacob, Maine (So., F; Winnipeg, Man.) Scored both goals for Maine in a 2-0 win at Boston University.
Kiia Lahtinen, Maine (So., G; Porvoo, Finland) Posted a 17-save shutout at Boston University on Saturday,
Olivia Grabianowski, MC (Sr., F; Shakopee, Minn.) Had a goal and a primary assist in the Warriors’ 3-2 win over Providence on Saturday.
Neely Hawn, MC (Fr., D; Mars, Pa.) Dished out two assists, one in each game, of a split weekend for Merrimack. She started the play that lead to the eventual game-winning goal on Saturday against Providence.
Adreanna Doucette, MC (So., G; Millbury, Mass.) Made 39 saves, including 22 in the third period, and allowed just one even-strength goal in a 3-2 victory over Providence on Saturday.
Danika Botterill, UNH (Jr., Portage La Prairie, Man.) Posted a team-leading three points with power-play goals in New Hampshire’s 4-2 win over Merrimack and 3-2 win over No. 13 Holy Cross, while also adding an assist against the Crusaders. With her three-point weekend, Botterill extends her point streak to three games (3g, 2a). She scored the game-winning goal against Merrimack.
Nina Rossi, UNH (Fr., F; Pittsgrove, N.J.) Helped New Hampshire to wins over Merrimack and No. 13 Holy Cross, providing two helpers, including on the game-winning goal, in a 4-2 win over the Warriors before tacking on her third assist of the weekend in the Wildcats’ 3-2 win over the Crusaders. With her team-high three points, Rossi extended her assist streak to three games (4a).
Stryker Zablocki, NU (Fr., F; Prince Albert, Sask.) Posted one goal and three assists to help Northeastern clinch the regular season title in a 2-0-0 weekend. She posted back-to-back multi-point performances with a goal and an assist against Maine and two assists at Vermont.
Ella Lloyd, NU (Fr., D; Ardrossan, Alta.) Had two points and three blocks over two games. Lloyd posted both her points off assists against Maine and finished the week with a plus-two rating.
Cristina Cavaliere, PC (Sr., D; Mississauga, Ont.) Had a goal, two assists and four blocked shots against No. 6 UConn and Merrimack. Recorded her fourth multi-point game of the season on Saturday against Merrimack and extended her point streak to four games (1g, 5a).
Hope Walinski, PC (Gr., G; Lincoln, R.I.) Stopped 42 shots and allowed just one five-on-five goal in two starts.
Stella Retrum, UVM (Jr., F; Maple Grove, Minn.) Extended her point streak to seven games (5g, 6a). In Thursday’s 3-0 win over Boston University, she had a hand in each goal, setting up two and scoring a shorthanded tally of her own. In Saturday’s overtime setback to No. 5 Northeastern, Retrum added another helper, her career-high 13th of the year.
Josie Hemp, UVM (So., D; Chanhassen, Minn.) Had a goal and the primary assist on the game-tying strike with just 27 seconds left in regulation to push No. 5 Northeastern to overtime. She had four blocks in the 1-1-0 weekend and eight shots on net.
