HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
The final weekend of the women’s regular season begins with five of eight quarterfinal teams known and two home-ice spots up for grabs between Boston College, Holy Cross, and New Hampshire.
UConn secured the second seed in the 2026 Hockey East Women’s Tournament with a sweep of New Hampshire and Boston University, ensuring the Huskies will host at least through the semifinals set for March 3.
Boston College moved into a tie for third place in the Army ROTC Standings with a three-point weekend, taking one point in a 2-1 overtime setback to Providence before securing a 1-0 overtime win over No. 5 Northeastern on Sunday. Grace Campbell stopped 66 of 68 shots she faced and allowed zero even-strength goals.
Providence kept itself in contention for home ice in the Opening Round on Feb. 25 with a sweep of Boston College and No. 14 Holy Cross. Hope Walinski was perfect during five-on-five play and stopped 58 shots across the two games.
Merrimack’s Adreanna Doucette stopped 69 shots and backboned the Warriors to their first unbeaten weekend of the season, going 1-0-1 against No. 14 Holy Cross and Vermont.
BOSTON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Grace Campbell - Boston College
Grace Campbell (Sr., G; Kensington, Md.) started both games for
the Eagles last weekend, posting a 0.95 goals-against average
and a .971 save percentage. She made 66 saves on 68 shots over
126:33 minutes, earning a win in a 1-0 overtime shutout against No.
5 Northeastern. The two goals both game while the Eagles were
shorthanded, including one in overtime.
PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ava Thomas - Boston College
Ava Thomas (Fr., F; Downingtown, Pa.) scored the game-winning
goal in a 1-0 overtime win over No. 5 Northeastern on Sunday, lifting
BC into a tie for third place in the Hockey East Army ROTC Standings in the process. She fired 25 shots on goal, which was the most
in the NCAA last week.
ARMY ROTC DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Adreanna Doucette - Merrimack
Adreanna Doucette (So., G; Milbury, Mass.) made 69 saves in
an unbeaten weekend, including 40 in a 3-2 win over Vermont on
Sunday and 29 in a 1-1 draw on Friday. The 40-save outing was her
fourth game with at least 40 saves on the season and her 10th with
at least 30 stops. It was the Warriors’ first unbeaten weekend of the
season.
STOP IT GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Hope Walinski - Providence
Hope Walinski (Gr., G; Lincoln, R.I.) made 58 saves in a pair of
wins over Boston College and No. 14 Holy Cross, allowing three
goals and none at five-on-five play. She posted a 1.47 goals against
average and .946 save percentage.
HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS
Maxim Tremblay, BC (Fr., F; Sherbrooke, Que.) Netted her 10th goal of the season on Friday in a 2-1 setback to Providence.
Olivia Maffeo, BC (So., D; Canton, Mass.) Registered one assist over the weekend while helping anchor a Boston College defense that allowed just two goals across two games. She added five blocked shots.
Clara Yuhn, BU (Sr., F; Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) Had a goal against No. 5 Northeastern, her second unassisted goal of the season.
Michelle Pasiechnyk, BU (Gr., G; Ottawa, Ont.) Made 34 stops on 35 shots faced against No. 6 UConn.
Emma Eryou, UConn (Sr., D; Nepean, Ont.) Helped lead UConn to a 2-0-0 weekend to secure the two seed in the Hockey East Women’s Tournament, recording a goal and two assists with five shots and a block. In Friday’s win at New Hampshire, Eryou dished out a season game-high two assists. On Saturday, Eryou scored the game-winning goal in the second period, her second game-winner this season.
Tia Chan, UConn (Gr., G; Hamilton, Ont.) Made 30 saves across two starts and allowed just one goal in a 2-0-0 week- end. On Friday, Chan made 21 saves, conceding just one goal. On Saturday, Chan posted her fifth shutout of the season, making 11 saves in the win.
Alexia Moreau, HC (Sr., F; Louiseville, Que.) Scored Holy Cross’ lone goal in Friday’s 1-1 tie at Merrimack. It was her 12th goal of the year, tying for the highest single-season total by any Crusader in the Hockey East era.
Anna Billa, HC (Fr., D; Vienna, Austria) Scored the first two goals of her collegiate career on Saturday, when she netted both of the Crusaders’ goals in a 3-2 setback at Providence.
Madison Vittands, MC (So., F; Gloucester, Mass.) Scored the go-ahead and game-winning goal against Vermont on Sunday, striking twice in a span of 2:23 in the second period.
Stina Sandberg, MC (Fr., F; Orebro, Sweden) Found the back of the net on Sunday in a 3-2 win at Vermont.
Nina Rossi, UNH (Fr., F; Pittsgrove, N.J.) Logged the lone assist in New Hampshire’s 5-1 loss to No. 6 UConn on Friday before tallying a shorthanded goal against Maine on Saturday, totaling two points on the weekend and extending her point streak to five games (1g, 5a).
Noemi Martinez, UNH (Jr., G; Glen Ridge, N.J.) Extended her win streak as a starter for the Wildcats in Saturday’s 3-0 win at Maine, denying all 31 shots faced for her second shutout of the season, fourth-straight win, and fifth-straight game with at least 30 saves.
Allie Lalonde, NU (Jr., F; Irvine, Calif.) Posted a three-point performance to lead Northeastern to a 5-2 win against Boston University. She posted one goal and two assists and finished her weekend with a plus-three rating.
Jules Constantinople, NU (Sr., D; East Haven, Conn.) Recorded two points and four blocks over two games for Northeastern. Constantinople tallied a goal and an assist in a victory at Boston University.
Audrey Knapp, PC (Jr., F; Stevens Point, Wis.) Had three assists to lead the Friars in points this weekend in a two-win weekend against Boston College and No. 14 Holy Cross. It was her sixth multi-point game of the season and 17th of her career.
Cristina Cavaliere, PC (Sr., D; Mississauga, Ont.) Dished out two assists and had three blocked shots to help Providence to a two-win weekend.
Rose-Marie Brochu, UVM (Jr., F; Levis, Que.) Had four points in an 0-1-1 weekend for the Catamounts, scoring three goals and adding an assist while winning 28 of 43 faceoff attempts.
Sophia DeAnzeris, UVM (Fr., D; Saratoga, N.Y.) Earned her third assist of the season on Friday at Maine.
Oona Havana, UVM (So., F; Turku, Finland) Scored her 10th goal of the season on Friday at Maine and had five shots on goal. She added an assist on Sunday against Merrimack.
