HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
Northeastern women’s hockey closed its 45-year history inside Matthews Arena with a come-from-behind victory over Boston College on Saturday. Senior captain Lily Shannon scored the game-winning goal while rookie Stryker Zablocki dished out two primary assists and a score in a 4-2 victory. Over 100 alumnae of the program were on hand for the final send off. The win gave the Huskies a weekend sweep as they improved to 11-1-0 in Hockey East play and a nine-point lead in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings.
Holy Cross won a program record-tying sixth Hockey East game as the Crusaders swept Vermont on the road. Abby Hornung notched her fourth career shutout on Friday with 28 saves in a 2-0 win and added 19 more in a 2-1 triumph on Saturday.
In one of the most closely contested series of the year, Maine and New Hampshire needed eight periods to settle a two-game set at Durham, with each team earning three points. Kendall Sundby scored the overtime tally in Friday’s 4-3 win for the Black Bears, while Dani Brunette had two goals and an assist. UNH rebounded with a 2-2 draw and shootout win the next night as Sedona Blair made 39 saves. Rookie Nina Rossi had four points (2g, 2a) in the series and five points in a three-game week after scoring a goal in a 4-3 win at No. 6 Northeastern.
Providence took five of six points from Merrimack, backboned by 35 saves and two wins from Hope Walinski. Sophomore Jessie Pellerin scored two goals on Saturday in a 3-2 win, the first multi-goal game of her career.
UConn secured four points from Boston University as Meghane Duchesne-Chalifoux scored with just seven seconds remaining in Saturday’s
3-2 win. Friday saw BU win the shootout after a 1-1 stalemate through 60
minutes after reigning 2026 Hockey East Tournament MVP Sydney Healey
scored a shorthanded goal for the Terriers.
HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Allie Lalonde - Northeastern
Allie Lalonde (Jr., F; Irvine, Calif.) posted four points on three goals
and one assist in a 2-1-0 week for the Huskies. She netted her first
career hat trick to lead Northeastern to a 3-1 win at Boston College
on Friday and dished out an assist in an overtime setback to UNH on
Tuesday. Lalonde finished the week with a plus-four rating.
PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Nina Rossi - New Hampshire
Nina Rossi (Fr., F; Pittsgrove, N.J.) led the NCAA with five points
(2g, 3a) across three games for the Wildcats, averaging 1.67 points
per game. Rossi netted the first goal for New Hampshire while shorthanded on Tuesday, sparking a 4-3 overtime upset victory at No. 6
Northeastern. She then logged a pair of assists and the game-tying
goal with 14.3 seconds to play in regulation in the team’s 4-3 overtime setback to Maine on Friday, the second three-point game of her
season. Rossi closed her weekend with another assist in the team’s
2-2 tie with Maine on Saturday.
ARMY ROTC DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Maya Serdachny - UConn
Maya Serdachny (Jr., D; Edmonton, Alta.) assisted all three UConn
goals on Saturday in a 3-2 win against Boston University. She added
two shots on net in the win and put three shots on goal in Friday’s
1-1 tie.
STOP IT GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Abby Hornung - Holy Cross
Abby Hornung (Sr., G; Ashland, Mass.) went 2-1-0 in a three-game week with a 1.33 goals against average and a .938 save
percentage. She posted her fourth career shutout during Friday’s 2-0
victory at Vermont, making 28 saves. She added 19 saves in Saturday’s 2-1 win at Vermont and had 14 saves in Tuesday’s 3-0 loss to
Boston University.
HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS
Madelyn Murphy, BC (Fr., D; Dorchester, Mass.) Picked up three points across a two-game set with No. 6 Northeastern, scoring once and adding two assists. She opened the scoring on Saturday and assisted a BC’s power-play goal. Murphy also registered four shots on Friday and finished the weekend with seven total attempts.
Maxim Tremblay, BC (Fr., F; Sherbrooke, Que.) Scored once and added an assist in two setbacks to No. 6 Northeastern. She scored BC’s lone goal Friday at 6:40 of the second period and assisted on Saturday’s power-play tally. Tremblay finished the weekend with nine total shots and won 68 percent of her faceoffs on Friday.
Cailin Flynn, BC (Sr., D; Woburn, Mass.) Blocked six shots over two games against Northeastern, including three in each matchup, while playing primary defensive-zone and penalty-kill minutes. She helped limit Northeastern to one power-play goal across the weekend.
Grace Campbell, BC (Sr., G; Kensington, Md.) Totaled 74 saves on 79 shots (.937) over two games against Northeastern. She made 37 saves in each start, turning aside double-digit shots in all six periods played. Campbell posted a 2.50 goals-against average for the weekend.
Sydney Healey, BU (Sr., F; Arthur, Ont.) Netted BU’s lone goal unassisted while shorthanded on Friday in a 1-1 draw and converted her attempt in the shootout win against No. 7 UConn.
Avery Supryka, BU (Fr., D; Ottawa, Ont.) Scored her first collegiate goal and tallied an assist in a home game against UConn for her first multi-point game. She finished the weekend with a plus-two rating and three blocked shots.
Mari Pietersen, BU (Jr., G; Goodwood, Ont.) Made 42 saves on Friday and was 2-for-3 on shootout saves against No. 7 UConn, the second highest save total of her career. She added 28 saves on Saturday at UConn.
Ashley Allard, UConn (Jr., F; Ottawa, Ont.) Recorded a goal and two assists against Boston University in a 1-0-1 weekend. On Friday, she assisted the lone Huskies goal in a 1-1 draw. On Saturday, she scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and later assisted the game-winning goal with 7.3 seconds left in regulation. She totaled six shots on the weekend.
Tia Chan, UConn (Gr., G; Hamilton, Ont.) Made 43 saves on Friday while giving up just one goal in a 1-1 tie, her third straight game of putting up at least 40 saves for the Huskies. On Saturday, she made 20 stops to lead UConn to a 3-2 win over BU.
Alexia Moreau, HC (Sr., F; Louiseville, Que.) Tallied one goal and one assist in a road sweep at Vermont. She scored the game-winning goal in Saturday’s 2-1 victory and added an assist in Friday’s 2-0 triumph. She ranks fourth on the team in scoring with 14 points on seven goals and seven assists.
Violet Carroll, HC (Fr., F; Milton, Mass.) Netted the Crusaders’ second goal in Friday’s 2-0 victory at Vermont. She leads the team in scoring with 19 points and seven goals and 12 assists.
Dani Brunette, Maine (Sr., F; Chisago City, Minn.) Had a career-best three-point (2g, 1a) game in Friday’s 4-3 overtime win at New Hampshire. She put five shots on net and was plus-three with one block.
Paige Fong, Maine (Fr., D; Pickering, Ont.) Had two helpers, two shots on goal and three blocks in a 1-0-1 weekend at New Hampshire.
Brenna Curl, Maine (So., D; Bismark, N.D.) Dished out two assists in Friday’s 4-3 win at New Hampshire and finished a 1-0-1 weekend with a plus-two rating.
Kiia Lahtinen, Maine (So., G; Porvoo, Finland) Made 27 saves on 30 shots in Friday’s 4-3 win at New Hampshire and added 21 more in Saturday’s 2-2 draw. She is now unbeaten in her last three starts (2-0-1).
Josie Linn, UNH (Fr., F; Excelsior, Minn.) Recorded a goal and three assists in a career-high four-point performance on Tuesday, leading UNH to a win at No. 6 Northeastern. It was her second multi-point game the season. In addition to her four-point week, Linn posted seven shots on net and went 33-for-56 in the face-off circle (.589 win percentage).
Sadie Makokis, UNH (Jr., D; St. Albert, Alta.) Helped fuel the Wildcats’ offense from the blueline last week, posting the secondary assist on the game-tying goal late in the third against No. 6 Northeastern on Tuesday before earning the primary assist on the game-winning goal in overtime. Makokis tallied her third assist of the week and seventh point of the season in New Hampshire’s 2-2 tie against Maine on Saturday.
Sedona Blair, UNH (Jr., G; Eden Prairie, Minn.) Submitted 127:48 of work for the Wildcats, posting a 1-0-1 record while stopping 74 of 79 shots she faced for a .937 save percentage. In a 4-3 road win at No. 6 Northeastern, she turned aside 35 of 38 shots before putting in a 39-save outing in a 2-2 tie with Maine on Saturday.
Stryker Zablocki, NU (Fr., F; Price Albert, Sask.) Registered three points in the final women’s hockey game at Matthews Arena on Saturday, guiding the Huskies to a 4-2 win over Boston College. She posted one goal and two assists, including the primary helpers on the game-tying and game-winning goals to complete the come-from-behind victory. She now has 21 points on the season. She finished a three-game week for the Huskies with four blocks and a plus-two rating.
Lisa Jönsson, NU (So., G; Stockholm, Sweden) Went 2-0-0 for the Huskies in a weekend sweep over the Boston College Eagles. Jönsson posted 45 saves across the two games while averaging a 1.50 GAA and .938 save percentage. Her 12 wins on the season are tied for the fourth most in the NCAA.
Jessie Pellerin, PC (So., Bowmanville, Ont.) Scored two goals in a 3-2 win over Merrimack on Saturday, the first multi-goal game of her career.
Taylor Leemrijse, PC (Fr., D; Toronto, Ont.) Had one goal and one assist in a two-game sweep of Merrimack.
Hope Walinski, PC (Gr., G; Lincoln, R.I.) Picked up two wins over Merrimack, making 35 saves while allowing four goals. She earned a 1.95 goals against average and a .896 save percentage.
Stella Retrum, UVM (Jr., F; Maple Grove, Minn.) Potted her sixth goal of the season to tie for the team high on Saturday against Holy Cross and tallied seven total shots on goal throughout a two-game weekend set with the Crusaders.
Sophia DeAnzeris, UVM (Fr., D; Saratoga, N.Y.) Earned her second career assist on Saturday while blocking three shots, a career-high.
