HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES

Holy Cross earned five more points in the Army ROTC Hockey East Standings, moving into sole possession of third place entering the Thanksgiving holiday. Senior forward Alexia Moreau racked up four points (1g, 3a) in a 1-0-1 weekend against New Hampshire while Abby Hornung made 61 saves in the unbeaten weekend.

Northeastern stayed perfect at 9-0-0 in league play with a sweep of Maine. Lily Shannon scored four times across the two games, including the game-winning strike on Saturday. Jules Constantinople set up both decisive tallies for the Huskies and had three assists on the weekend.

Boston College took a 4-0 win over Merrimack in the lone game for the Eagles. Grace Campbell made 24 saves for a shutout, including 10 in the third period to preserve the blank slate.

UConn swept Vermont, 4-0 and 6-3, to improve to 9-1-1 in their last 11 contests. Julia Pellerin scored a hat trick in Friday’s 4-0 win to go along with an 18-save shutout from Tia Chan.

Boston University earned five points over Providence with a win and a shootout victory. Terrier netminder Mari Petersen stopped 34 shots in Friday’s 4-1 victory, the third-most of her NCAA career, before denying 17 of 19 on Saturday in a 2-2 draw.

Alexia Moreau - Holy Cross

Alexia Moreau (Sr., F; Louiseville, Que.) racked up four points in a 1-0-1 weekend against New Hampshire. She had the primary assist on Holy Cross’s only goal in a 1-1 draw on Friday. She followed up with the game-winning goal in the third period of Saturday’s 3-2 victory and had the primary assists on the other two Crusaders’ goals, both on the power play.

Lily Shannon (Sr., F; Andover, Mass.) scored four goals to guide Northeastern to its first sweep against Maine in Orono since the 2012-13 season. Shannon tallied two goals in both games, including the game-win- ner on Saturday. She now leads all Hockey East players in goals (10), assists (13) and points (23).


PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Madelyn Murphy - Boston College

Madelyn Murphy (Fr., D; Dorchester, Mass.) registered one goal, four shots on net, and a plus-three rating in Boston College’s 4–0 win over Merrimack. The freshman scored at 18:46 of the second period to extend the Eagles’ lead to 3-0.

Jules Constantinople - Northeastern

Jules Constantinople (Sr., D; East Haven, Conn.) handed out three assists and two blocks in a weekend sweep over Maine. Constantinople posted two assists in game one and two assists in game two. She set up the game-winning goal in both games. Her 12 assists rank second among all Hockey East players.

Mari Petersen - Boston University

Mari Petersen (Jr., G; Goodwood, Ont.) stopped 34 shots on Friday and 17 on Saturday, going undefeated against Providence while allowing just three goals. The 34 saves in Friday’s 4-1 win was her second-highest total of the season and third-highest in her collegiate career. On Saturday, she denied both shootout attempts by Providence to help the Terriers win the shootout.


HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS

Olivia Maffeo, BC (So., D; Canton, Mass.) Recorded two points (1g, 1a), a game-winning goal, and a plus-four rating in the Eagles’ 4-0 win over Merrimack, their lone game of the weekend. She also played key minutes on a penalty kill that went 3-for-3.

Ava Thomas, BC (Fr., F; Downington, Pa.) Scored her ninth goal of the season and led all players with eight shots on goal in BC’s 4–0 win over Merrimack. She finished with a plus-one rating.

Grace Campbell, BC (Jr., G; Kensington, Md.) Made 24 saves for a shutout in BC’s 4-0 win over Merrimack. She stopped all 10 shots she faced in the third period.

Clara Yuhn, BU (Sr., F; Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) Had a goal and an assist in an undefeated weekend against Providence. She scored the game-winning goal on Friday and set up the game-tying goal on Saturday with just 29 seconds left in regulation to force overtime in an eventual BU shootout victory. She is currently riding a five-game point streak (3g, 3a).

Avery Supryka, BU (Fr., D; Ottawa, Ont.) Dished out an assist in Friday’s 4-1 win over Providence to go along with two blocked shots and blocked three more in Saturday’s 2-2 draw.

Keira Healey, BU (So., D; Arthur, Ont.) Had an assist on BU’s fourth goal in Friday’s 4-1 win over Providence and led the Terriers with three blocks in the victory. She finished Friday’s game with a plus-three rating.

Julia Pellerin, UConn (Jr., F; Windham, N.H.) Paced UConn in a weekend sweep of Vermont, netting a hat trick in Friday’s 4-0 win, while recording seven total shots. On Saturday she logged four shots on net in the Huskies 6-3 win.

Maya Serdachny, UConn (Jr., D; Edmonton, Alta.) Posted a shot on net and blocked one in Friday’s 4-0 win over Vermont. On Saturday, she scored a goal and dished out two assists for her first career three-point game. Blocked three shots on the weekend.

Tia Chan, UConn (Gr., G; Hamilton, Ont.) Recorded her second shutout of the season in Friday’s 4-0 win over Vermont, making 18 saves. On Saturday, she came up with 24 saves on 27 shots, helping the Huskies to a weekend sweep of Vermont.

Violet Carroll, HC (Fr., F; Milton, Mass.) Had an assist on Holy Cross’s lone goal in Friday’s 1-1 draw with New Hampshire and then scored a power-play goal the next day in a 3-2 victory.

Lulu Rourke, HC (Jr., F; Wellesley, Mass.) Picked up three points (2g, 1a) in a 1-0-1 weekend against New Hampshire. She scored the lone goal of a 1-1 draw on Friday before earning two power-play points the next day in a 3-2 win.

Abby Hornung, HC (Sr., G; Ashland, Mass.) Made 61 saves and allowed just three goals in a 1-0-1 weekend against New Hampshire.

Kiia Lahtinen, Maine (So., G; Porvoo, Finland) Has now started 15 consecutive games for Maine. She made 65 saves on 69 shots faced this weekend, posting a .942 save percentage against No. 8 Northeastern. She currently has the fourth-best goals against average and fifth-best save percentage in Hockey East.

Alyson Hush, UNH (Sr., F; Scarborough, Ont.) Registered a team-high two points in New Hampshire’s home-and-home series with Holy Cross, earning the secondary assist on the lone goal of a 1-1 tie on Friday before netting one in the second period of the team’s 3-2 setback on Saturday.

Josie Linn, UNH (Fr., F; Excelsior, Minn.) Netted her fourth goal of the season in the second period of New Hampshire’s 3-2 loss to Holy Cross on Saturday, finishing the weekend with six shots and a plus-one rating while going 19-for-31 in the face-off dot (.613).

Sedona Blair, UNH (Jr., G; Eden Prairie, Minn.) Stopped 38-of-39 shots faced in Friday’s 1-1 tie with Holy Cross, finishing with a 0.92 goals against average and .974 save percentage, closing her weekend with 56 saves and a .933 save percentage in a 0-1-1 series.

Sami Snyder, PC (Fr., F; Waterloo, Ont.) Netted two goals in a series against Boston University.
