AMESBURY, Mass. – Hockey East will see a record 44 alumnae representing nine of the league’s 10 member institutions begin the 2025-26 season in the PWHL, the top-flight league in women’s hockey. The Hockey East products represent nearly a quarter of the 191 NCAA products in the league. A full list can be found below.

Each PWHL team can roster 26 players, including three signed to Reserve Player Contracts. Additionally, teams can carry players on long-term injured reserve (LTIR). Beginning this season, each team is also allowed to roster a third goaltender. Of the 208 players listed for opening night in 2025-26, 191, or 92%, are college hockey products. Notably, the Minnesota Frost and Vancouver Goldeneyes rosters are made up entirely of NCAA alumnae.

The 191 NCAA alumnae in the PWHL represent 35 of the 45 schools competing in 2025-26. Fourteen NCAA programs have at least five former players on league rosters, led by Ohio State (22), Wisconsin (18), and Clarkson (15), while Minnesota, Minnesota Duluth, and Quinnipiac each have 14.

Within Hockey East, the Northeastern Huskies pace the league with 12 products, followed by Boston College (10), Boston University (6), UConn (6), Providence (3), Vermont (3), Maine (2), Merrimack (1) and New Hampshire (1).

Nine alumnae of the Hockey East Association were selected in the 2025 PWHL Entry Draft, representing six of the league’s 10 member programs. In all, 45 of the 48 players selected during the six-round draft came from NCAA Division I hockey, including all eight first-round picks.

Four league products claimed the 2025 Walter Cup, winning the playoff tournament of the Professional Women’s Hockey League with the Minnesota Frost. The champions include captain Kendall Coyne Schofield (Northeastern, 2011-16), Denisa Krizova (Northeastern 2014-18), Katy Knoll (Northeastern, 2019-24), and Michela Cava (UConn, 2012-14).
