HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
UConn improved to 4-2-0 on the year with a sweep of No. 15 Princeton, with all four wins coming against ranked opponents. Tia Chan made a career-best 48 saves in a 2-1 win Friday before stopping all 33 shots the next day in a 3-0 victory.
Holy Cross stayed unbeaten at home, sweeping Dartmouth to move to 4-0-0 on the year at the Hart Center. Rookie Violet Carroll netted the game-winning goal and Abby Hornung stopped 16 shots for her second career shutout on Saturday.
Maine earned its first win over No. 8 Colgate since 2004 as Kiia Lahtinen made 40 saves on 41 shots to secure a 2-1 victory. Lily Fetch scored the game-winning goal, the fourth of her career. Lahtinen stopped 75 shots in the weekend split and currently leads Hockey East and is second in the NCAA with 260 saves.
Providence earned a weekend split with No. 9 Clarkson as Hope Walinski went 1-1-0 against the Golden Knights. The graduate student stopped 66 of 70 shots, including 28 in Friday’s 2-1 win.
Vermont took third place in the 2025 Ice Breaker Tournament. After
falling to No. 1 Wisconsin, the Catamounts bounced back for a 3-1
victory over Saint Anselm. Zoe Cliche secured her second win in
just her second career start, making 14 total saves in the victory,
while junior forward Stella Retrum scored in back-to-back games
and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tia Chan - UConn
Tia Chan (Gr., G; Hamilton, Ont.) tied a career high in Friday’s 2-1
win over No. 15 Princeton, recording 48 saves to lead UConn to their
second straight top 15 win. Chan followed up on Saturday by posting
her first shutout of the season, making 33 saves in UConn’s 3-0 win.
PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Violet Carroll - Holy Cross
Violet Carroll (Fr., F; Milton, Mass.) totaled a team-high three
points (1g, 2a) during a weekend sweep of Dartmouth, scoring the
game-winning goal in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over the Big Green and
had two primary assists in Friday’s 3-2 victory. She is now tied for
the team lead with six points on two goals and four assists.
ARMY ROTC DEFENDER OF THE WEEK

Lulu Rucinski - Maine
Lulu Rucinski (Fr., D; Orono, Minn.) had one goal and one assist
in a split weekend with No. 8 Colgate, scoring a goal and adding an
assist in Friday’s 5-2 setback. She finished the weekend with a plus-one rating with four shots on goal and seven blocked shots. She
currently leads all rookies in Hockey East with 18 blocks.
STOP IT GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK

Kiia Lahtinen - Maine
Kiia Lahtinen (So., G; Porvoo, Finland) picked up a win over No. 8
Colgate on Saturday, the second ranked win of her career. Lahtinen
made 40 saves on 41 shots in the 2-1 victory after stopping 35 on
Friday. She posted a total of 75 saves on 80 shots in the split for a
.938 save percentage. The sophomore currently leads Hockey East
and is second in the nation with 260 saves.

Luisa Welcke, BU (Sr., F: Heidelberg, Germany) Scored BU’s lone goal against Brown to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead early in the second frame.
Kyla Josifovic, UConn (Sr., F; Burlington, Ont.) helped UConn sweep No. 15 Princeton with three goals against the Tigers. In Friday’s 2-1 win she scored the game-winning goal with eight minutes remaining in the third period. Josifovic followed with two third-period goals in Saturday’s 3-0 win, her first career multi-goal game.
Julia Stephen, UConn (Jr., D; Burlington, Ont.) Recorded an assist and had two shots on net in two outings against No. 15 Princeton to go along with one blocked shot.
Abby Hornung, HC (Sr., G; Ashland, Mass.) Picked up her second career shutout during Saturday’s 2-0 victory against Dartmouth with 16 saves. She now stands 3-1 on the season with a 1.51 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.
Skyler Sharfman, HC (So., D; Foxborough, Mass.) Had a goal and an assist in a sweep of Dartmouth. She scored her first career goal in Saturday’s 2-0 win and assisted on another on Friday.
Lily Fetch, Maine (Jr., F; Woodbury, Minn.) Scored the game-winning goal against No. 8 Colgate on Saturday, while posting three shots on net during a weekend split and finished with a plus-one rating. Fetch’s goal accounts for her fourth career game-winning goal and the 12th of her career.
Adreanna Doucette, MC (So., G; Milbury, Mass.) Turned aside 42 shots, her second straight start with at least 40 saves, in a 1-0 setback to Brown on Sunday.
Alyson Hush, UNH (Sr., F; Scarborough, Ont.) Logged the only goal for the Wildcats in a 2-1 setback to Harvard on Oct. 18, firing a backhanded shot midway through the first period to give UNH the early lead. Hush finished the game shooting .500 on two shot attempts and earning a team-leading plus-one rating.
Nina Rossi, UNH (Fr., F; Pittsgrove, N.J.) Earned the primary assist on the lone goal for the Wildcats in a 2-1 loss to Harvard on Oct. 18, improving her season point total to a team-high six points (3g, 3a).
Addison Finn, UNH (So., D; Stillwater, Minn.) Earned a team-leading plus-one rating in the Wildcats’ 2-1 loss to Harvard on Oct. 18 and blocked two shots and registered a pair of shots on net.
Sedona Blair, UNH (Jr., G; Eden Prairie, Minn.) Stopped 28-of-30 shots on net in a 2-1 setback to Harvard on Oct. 18, closing her evening with a .933 save percentage to accompany a 2.09 goals against average.
Reichen Kirchmair, PC (Sr., F; Oakville, Ont.) Scored the game-winning goal and recorded an assist in a 2-1 win over No. 9 Clarkson.
Hope Walinski, PC (Gr., G; Lincoln, R.I.) Went 1-1-0 against No. 9 Clarkson, stopping 66 of 70 shots to post a 1.51 GAA and .957 SV%.
Stella Retrum, UVM (Jr., F; Maple Grove, Minn.) Scored a goal in back-to-back games this weekend during 2025 the Ice Breaker Tournament. Scored first goal as a Catamount against No. 1 Wisconsin on Friday and opened the scoring of an eventual 3-1 win over Saint Anselm the next day. She put five shots on goal over the weekend and wsas named to the Ice Breaker All-Tournament Team.
Sophia DeAnzeris, UVM (Fr., F; Saratoga, N.Y.) Notched her first collegiate point with an assist on Vermont’s game-winning goal against Saint Anselm. She tallied a career high four shots on net in the win.
Ashley Kokavec, UVM (Jr., D; Parkland, Fla.) Dished out one assist against Wisconsin, her second of the season, and totaled five shots on goal over two games in a split weekend at the Ice Breaker. Her four shots on goal against Saint Anselm tied a season high.
Zoe Cliche, UVM (Fr., F; Ottawa, Ont.) Secured her second win in just her second career start, making 14 total saves in a 3-1 win over St. A’s.
