HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Adriana van de Leest - Maine
(Sr., D; Kelowna, B.C.)
Adriana van de Leest paced all Hockey East skaters and
was fourth in the nation with six points in just three December games, posting one goal and five assists. She put
seven shots on goal and assisted on one game-winning
goal. She ended 2024 riding a four-game point streak (1g,
6a) and a two-game multi-point streak. She assisted on all
three Maine goals in a 4-3 overtime setback to UConn.

PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE MONTH
Sage Babey - Merrimack
(Fr., F; Saskatoon, Sask.)
Sage Babey factored heavily in Merrimack’s three games
in December, scoring the Warriors’ lone goal in a 2-1
setback against UVM before exploding for two goals and
a primary assist on the overtime, game-winning goal in
a 3-2 victory the next day over Holy Cross. After scoring
a power-play goal, her second tally came with just 10
seconds remaining in regulation with an extra attacker to
force the bonus frame.

HOCKEY EAST DEFENDER OF THE MONTH
Kendall Sundby - Maine
(Fr., D; Hammond, Wis.)
No rookie in the NCAA had more points in December than
Kendall Sundby’s four in just three games for the Maine
Black Bears. Her two power-play strikes also tied for the
national lead. She recorded at least one point in all three
games, including a career-best two-point outing (1g, 1a)
on Dec. 7 against UConn.

STOP IT GOALTENDING GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH
Tia Chan - UConn
(Sr., G; Hamilton, Ont.)
Tia Chan won both of her stats in December, claiming a
2-1 win with 27 saves at New Hampshire and following it
up the next day at Maine with a 24-save victory. Her two
wins were the most in Hockey East and second-most in
the NCAA.
