HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Natalie Mlynkova - Vermont

Mlynkova, named a finalist for Hockey East Player of the Year yesterday and a unanimous first-team all star last week, collected 10 points on five goals and five assists to tie for the league lead in eight games in February. She started the month on a seven-game point streak, racking up five goals and four assists in that span, and helped Vermont to the sixth seed in the Hockey East Tournament.

PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE MONTH

Sam Morrison - Maine
(Fr., F; Dominion, N.S.)

Morrison led all league rookies and came up big when the Black Bears needed offense the most. She scored six points in her final four games, including two game-winning goals and assisting another all in consecutive games, to lift Maine into a home-ice position in the Hockey East quarterfinals. She set up the overtime winner against Providence and then scored both decisive tallies in a road sweep of Holy Cross to get all necessary points for Maine.

ARMY ROTC DEFENDER OF THE MONTH

Megan Carter - Northeastern
(Gr., D; Milton, Ont.)

No defender in the NCAA had more goals in February than Carter, who added six assists to collect the sec- ond-most points of any blueliner in the country. She potted two power-play goals and posted a plus-seven rating. She was named the Army ROTC Best Defender in Hockey East last week alongside First-Team All Star Honors.

STOP IT GOALTENDING GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH

Gwyneth Philips - Northeastern
(Gr., G; Athens, Ohio)

Among league goaltenders that played in at least six games, Philips posted the top goals against average and save percentage in Hockey East. Her five wins tied to lead Hockey East goaltenders during February in eight starts. Among goaltenders that have played in at least 17 games, Philips leads the nation with a 1.20 GAA and a .953 save percentage.
