AMESBURY, Mass. – The Hockey East Association saw 20 league alumnae selected in the inaugural PWHL Draft which took place at CBC Headquarters in Toronto on Monday. The picks were highlighted by products of eight league programs. A full list of players can be found below.

Joining the 20 draftees in the first season in PWHL history will be five alumnae signed during the league’s free agency period, including Alex Carpenter (Boston College/New York), Kendall Coyne-Schofield (Northeastern/Minnesota), Aerin Frankel (Northeastern/Boston), Megan Keller (Boston College/Boston), and Marie-Philip Poulin (Boston University/Montreal).

Each of the original six PWHL programs will suit up at least one Hockey East product in 2023-24, lead by six on Mon- treal, five on New York, four each on Boston, Ottawa, and Toronto, and two for Minnesota. Northeastern claims the most representatives in the PWHL, sending nine to the top professional women’s league.

Boston College boasts six and Boston University has five, while two Providence and Vermont products will skate in the inaugural season. One each from UConn, Maine, and Merrimack round out the eight Hockey East programs to send a former player into the league.

The 2023-24 PWHL schedule will begin in January 2024 and feature 24 regular season games per team. The full schedule will be announced in the coming months.
