HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
Northeastern advanced to its third straight Frozen Four with a 4-1 victory at No. 4 Yale in the National Quarterfinals. The Huskies will face top overall seed Ohio State in Duluth, Minnesota on Friday, March 17 at 3:30pm in the semifinals.
Freshman forward Lily Shannon scored the opening goal, setting on a string of three-straight Huskies’ tallies. Chloe Aurard scored the game-winning strike, while Alina Mueller and Maureen Murphy secured the victory with goals of their own.
Gwyneth Philips made a career-high 38 saves in the win.
Mueller, Murphy, and Philips were all named Top-10 finalists for the
Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award last week. Mueller is a Top-3 finalist
after appearing in the Top-10 in each of her five collegiate seasons.
The four-time All-American is looking to win her first Patty Kaz and
third in Northeastern history after Kendall Coyne in 2015-16 and
Aerin Frankel in 2020-21.
HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Alina Mueller - Northeastern
Alina Mueller (Gr., F; Winterthur, Switzerland) scored a goal and
added an assist on the game-winning strike to lead Northeastern to
a 4-1 win at Yale and into the Frozen Four for the third straight year.
Mueller is a Top 3 finalists for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award,
given to the top player in college hockey last week. She became the
first-ever five-time Patty Kazmaier Top-10 Finalist.

Lily Shannon - Northeastern
Lily Shannon (Fr., F; Andover, Mass.) scored the opening goal of
the National Quarterfinals at 4:22 of the second period, leading the
way for a 4-1 victory at Yale.

Megan Carter - Northeastern
Megan Carter (Sr., D; Milton, Ont.) dished out the primary assist on
the game-winning goal in a 4-1 victory at Yale in the National Quarterfinal, sending the Huskies into the Frozen Four.

Gwyneth Philips - Northeastern
Gwyneth Philips (Sr., G; Athens, Ohio) made a career-high 38
saves in a 4-1 win at No. 4 Yale in the National Quarterfinals, backboning the Huskies into their third-straight Frozen Four appearance.
