STORRS, Conn.- The Providence College women's hockey team scored three third-period goals to defeat No. 14/14 UConn, 3-1, on Friday, Feb. 14, at Toscano Ice Forum in Storrs, Conn. With the win, the Friars improved to 18-10-3 overall and 14-8-2 in Hockey East play, while the Huskies fell to 19-10-2 and 17-5-2 in conference action. Sarah Davies (Mississauga, Ontario) scored the game-winning goal on the power play for the Friars.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
-Both teams remained scoreless through the first period. The Huskies had the edge in shots, 8-7, while the Friars successfully killed off a UConn power play.
-Early in the second period, the Huskies struck first off a faceoff win, with Jada Habsich scoring and Ashley Allard credited with the assist.
-Four minutes into the third, Millie Sirum (Oslo, Norway) netted the equalizer for Providence. Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and Taylor Gilmour (Napanee, Ontario) picked up assists, with Gilmour recording her first collegiate point.
-With 3:52 remaining, Sarah Davies (Mississauga, Ontario) gave the Friars the lead on the power play. Reichen Kirchmair (Oakville, Ontario) and Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point, Wis.) earned assists.
-Providence secured the win with an empty-net goal from Knapp with 28 seconds left. Kirchmair tallied the assist, marking her eighth multi-point game and extending her point streak to five games.
-The Friars earned their sixth win of the season over a ranked team, the most since the 2009-10 campaign when they recorded seven.
-Providence improved to 16-1-0 when scoring three or more goals.
-The Friars notched their third comeback win of the season when trailing after two periods, now sitting at 3-4-0 in such situations.
-Knapp's goal helped Providence improve to 12-2-0 when she records a point.
-Kayla Kutes (Kirkland, Wash.) returned to the lineup for the first time since Oct. 15.
-Goaltender Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) made 26 saves in the victory.
