PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College women's hockey team defeated New Hampshire, 6-3, on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Schneider Arena in Providence, R.I. The win improved the Friars to 6-6-0 overall and 3-5-0 in Hockey East. New Hampshire fell to 6-5-1 and 3-5-0 in conference play. Millie Sirum (Oslo, Norway) scored her first-career hat-trick. Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) recorded 25 saves.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
-The Friars struck early, scoring just 50 seconds into the game when Millie Sirum (Oslo, Norway) found the back of the net. Kiara Kraft (Churchville, N.Y.) and Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y.) provided the assists, marking the Friars' quickest goal this season.
-Off a faceoff win by Hannah Johnson (Readfield, Maine), Lily Hendrikson (Edina, Minn.) set up Sirum for her second goal of the game at 7:27 in the first period.
-The Wildcats quickly responded just 1:26 later with a goal from Shea Verrier, assisted by Kira Juodikis.
-UNH tied the game on a power-play goal from Kira Juodikis, with assists from Alyson Hush and Andi Calderone, at 7:46 in the second period.
-The Wildcats then took a 3-2 lead on another power-play, a wrister by Maddie Crowley-Cahill, assisted by Callista Printz and Chavonne Truter.
-Providence tied the game at 3-3 with a goal by Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point, Wis.) at 15:42 in the second. Reichen Kirchmair (Oakville, Ontario) and Becker earned assists.
-Just 57 seconds later, Dylan Berman (Deephaven, Minn.) put the Friars ahead with a feed from Jessie Pellerin (Bowmanville, Ontario). Johnson collected her second assist of the game.
-With 5:49 left in the third, the Friars capitalized on a power play as Sirum scored to complete her first career hat-trick in 127 games. Kirchmair and Knapp assisted, pushing the lead to 5-3.
-The Wildcats pulled their goalie, but Kirchmair sealed the win with an empty-net goal. Johnson's assist, her third of the game, was a career-high in both assists and points.
-Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) made 25 saves in the victory.
-Sirum's hat-trick is the second for the Friars this season, with Kraft having scored the other in the season opener against Saint Michael's (8-0).
-Providence won 51.7% of the faceoffs, improving to 3-0-0 when winning more than half of their draws.
-The Friars are now 4-1-0 when scoring first, and the win snapped a three-game losing streak.
