FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The No. 10 Northeastern women's hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to No. 13 St. Cloud State in the opening round of the Ice Breaker Tournament on Friday evening at Martire Family Arena.
- Both teams were held off the score sheet until the third period when St. Cloud's Katie Kaufman snuck one past fifth year netminder Gwyneth Philips at the 9:37 mark.
- SCSU then added on an empty-net goal to bring the final score to 2-0.
- Philips made 28 saves in net to keep the Huskies in the game.
- Sophomore Lily Shannon and fifth year Katy Knoll led all Northeastern players with four blocks each.
Northeastern will next face Sacred Heart or Lindenwood to close out the Ice Breaker Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m.
