Orono, Maine - Bradly Nadeau scored twice in the second period and Lynden Breen and Nolan Renwick found the back of the net in the third as the University of Maine men's hockey team earned a 4-1 season-opening win over RPI on Thursday night at Alfond Arena.

The Engineers took a 1-0 lead just under three minutes into the first period on a power-play goal. The Black Bears equalized on Bradly Nadeau's first career goal early in the second period and then the first-year player grabbed the lead with a power-play goal seven minutes later. Breen's goal 17 seconds into the third period and Renwick's tally 31 seconds later gave the game the 4-1 final scoreline.
