HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Taylor Makar - Maine
(Sr., F; Calgary, Alta.)

Taylor Makar exploded for seven goals in eight games, including an NCAA-best three game-winning strikes. He started the month off with the game-winning goal against UMass, before scoring two third-period goals, one shorthanded and one with the extra attacker, in a 3-3 tie at Providence where he also scored the shootout winning strike. He then scored the overtime winner the next day. He capped his month with his first hat trick in a 4-1 win over Vermont.

PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE MONTH

Cole Hutson - Boston University
(Fr., D; North Barrington, Ill.)

Cole Hutson had more points in February (11) than any other defender in the NCAA and the second-most of any freshman. He was named Beanpot MVP after scoring three goals and two assists across the tournament. He netted five goals and two game-winning goals, both more than any other rookie in the nation. He added 11 blocked shots, one power-play goal and 26 shots on net.

ARMY ROTC DEFENDER OF THE MONTH

Lukas Gustafsson - Boston College
(Jr., D; Alpharetta, Ga.)

Lukas Gustafsson helped the Eagles to a 6-2-0 mark and the top spot in Hockey East and the national polls in eight games in February. He had more blocked shots than any other player in Hockey East (19) and was third in the NCAA in the same category. His plus-12 rating was also second in the country and first in Hockey East.

STOP IT GOALTENDING GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH

Albin Boija - Maine
(So., G; Sundsvall, Sweden)

Albin Boija was tops among all Hockey East netminders who played more than three games in goals against average (1.66) and save percentage (.942). Four of his seven starts of the month game went into overtime, and his only loss was in the extra frame. His 4-1-2 mark was highlighted by a 28-save shutout at Providence and a 42-save performance at UConn.
