HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Ryan Leonard - Boston College
(So., F; Amherst, Mass.)

After captaining Team USA to World Junior gold to start January, Leonard returned to the Eagles and led the NCAA in game-winning goals (3) during a 7-1-0 month. He scored the 10 goals, second in the NCAA, two hat tricks, and 11 points in eight games. He is currently on a six- game goal streak with 10 goals in that span and has four straight games with multiple points.

PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE MONTH

Teddy Stiga - Boston College
(Fr., F; Sudbury, Mass.)

Teddy Stiga’s 10 points in eight games were fourth among his NCAA classmates and tops in Hockey East, scoring a balanced five goals and five assists. His five tallies were second nationally for freshmen, his plus-seven rating was third, and his 28 shots ranked fourth. He began 2025 by scoring the overtime-winning goal for Team USA to deliver the second consecutive WJC gold medal for the U.S.

ARMY ROTC DEFENDER OF THE MONTH

Seamus Powell - Merrimack
(Jr., D; Marcellus, N.Y.)

Seamus Powell racked up nine points and eight assists in nine games for Merrimack in January, recording at least one helper in eight of his nine appearances. His eight assists were second among defenders in the NCAA and led Hockey East while his nine points were third nationally for blueliners. He also blocked 17 shots, good for sixth nationally and third in Hockey East.

STOP IT GOALTENDING GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH

Tyler Muszelik - UConn
(Jr., G; Long Valley, N.J.)

Muszelik was undefeated in the month of January, posting a 4-0-1 record while backstopping UConn to its first-ever CT Ice crown. Among goaltenders with more than two starts, he was third nationally and paced Hockey East in both save percentage (.951) and goals against average (1.38).
