HOCKEY EAST HEADLINES
No. 3 Boston College visits No. 10 Providence tonight in a nationally televised game on ESPNU. Both teams are coming off their first loss in Hockey East play, the Eagles dropping a 5-4 decision at UConn, while Providence fell, 5-1, to UMass last weekend.
UConn picked up a win over No. 2 Boston College in their lone game of the weekend, taking a 5-4 decision thanks in part to a goal and an assist from Hudson Schandor and 17 saves in relief from Tyler Muszelik.
No. 7 Maine and No. 11 Boston University batted in an classic two-game set at Alfond Arena. The home Black Bears took a 5-2 win on Friday night, using two goals from Owen Fowler to down the Terriers. The next night, BU bounced back with goals from Cole Eiserman and Shane Lachance, the latter coming with just 20 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime. before taking the shootout win and extra point.
New Hampshire grabbed four of six Hockey East points from Northeastern in a 1-0-1 weekend with the Huskies. Morgan Winters scored
two goals, including the game-winning goal, in Friday’s 4-1 win while
Jared Whale, allowed just two goals and made 51 saves over two
games against He posted a 0.96 goals against average and a .962
save percentage on the week.

Dillan Bentley - UMass Lowell
Dillan Bentley (Jr., F; Peoria, Ill.) helped lead the River Hawks to a sweep
at Vermont this weekend, totaling two goals and an assist for three points.
In game one’s 5-2 victory, Bentley scored the first goal of the game to set
the tone for UMass Lowell, before coming back in game two to assist on the
game’s first goal and score the third in a 3-0 shutout win.
PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Cole Eiserman - Boston University
Cole Eiserman (Fr., F; Newburyport, Mass.) Netted his seventh goal of
the season on Saturday after recording an assist on Friday night. No other
league rookie has scored more goals (7) or points (11) than Eiserman.

Eamon Powell - Boston College
Eamon Powell (Gr., D; Marcellus, N.Y.) dished out three assists and was a
plus-three in Boston College’s lone game of the weekend.
STOP IT GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Henry Welsch - UMass Lowell
Henry Welsch (Gr., G; Lakeville, Minn.) earned a series sweep at Vermont
and improving his record to 8-1-0 on the year. In Friday’s game one, he made
19 saves in the win, before coming out on Saturday and having a 20-save
shutout. He finished the weekend with a 1.00 GAA and a .951 save percentage.
HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS
Aidan Hreschuk, BC (Sr., D; Long Beach, Calif.) Scored two goals for the Eagles on Friday against UConn, his first career multi-goal performance.
Shane Lachance, BU (So., F; Andover, Mass.) Scored the game-tying goal at No. 7 Maine on Saturday night, lighting the lamp with just 20.6 seconds on the clock. Lachance also had an assist on Friday.
Tom Willander, BU (So., D; Stockholm, Sweden) Assisted on both goals in the Terriers’ 2-2 tie at #7 Maine on Saturday. He also finished the weekend with two blocked shots.
Mathieu Caron, BU (Sr., G; Abbotsford, B.C.) Made 30 saves in a 2-2 tie at #7 Maine on Saturday night, his lone start of the weekend. Caron came up clutch in the shootout as well, holding the Black Bears scoreless.
Hudson Schandor, UConn (Gr., F; North Vancouver, B.C.) Helped UConn to a win over #2 Boston College, scoring one goal and adding an assist. Additionally, Schandor was 10 of 6 from the faceoff circle.
Tom Messineo, UConn (Jr., D; Westwood, Mass.) Scored a goal and blocked two shots in UConn’s win over #2 Boston College.
Tyler Muszelik, UConn (Jr., G; Long Valley, N.J.) Made 17 saves while allowing just one goal in a 5-4 win over #2 Boston College.
Owen Fowler, Maine (Jr., F; Tewksbury, Mass.) Had two goals in Maine’s win over BU on Friday night and put eight shots on goal over the 1-0-1 weekend.
Frank Djurasevic, Maine (So., D; New Rochelle, N.Y.) Had one goal and one assist in Maine’s win on Friday night. He blocked a league-leading seven shots over the 1-0-1 weekend and had a plus-one rating and five shots on goal.
Albin Boija, Maine (So., G; Sundsvall, Sweden) Went 1-0-1 with a 1.94 goals against average and .915 save percentage against Boston University.
Mirko Buttazoni, UML (Fr., F; Langley, B.C.) Scored his first goal of his career on a breakaway to give the River Hawks a 2-1 lead at Vermont. Later in the game, he assisted the team’s fourth goal to finish with two points, four shots on goal and a plus-three rating.

Morgan Winters, UNH (Jr., F; Osprey, Fla.) Scored two goals on Friday in the 4-1 win over Northeastern. He netted his third career game winner and added an empty netter for his second career two-goal game.
Alex Gagne, UNH (Sr., D; Bedford, N.H.) Posted one goal and one assist for two points on Friday in the 4-1 win over Northeastern. He totaled three blocks and a plus-three over the two games, including the primary assist on the game-winner.
Jared Whale, UNH (Jr., G; Calgary, Alta.) Allowed two goals and made 51 saves over two games against Northeastern as he went 1-0-1. He posted a 0.96 goals against average and a .962 save percentage on the week. In the 4-1 win on Friday he made 23 saves, while he recorded 28 saves on Saturday in a 1-1 tie.
