HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Alex Jefferies - Merrimack
Junior; Lunenburg, Massachusetts

Alex Jefferies led all Hockey East players with eight points and seven assists through five outings in December. The junior forward helped the Warriors to a 4-1-0 record and recorded a point in four of his five appearances. His 1.60 points per game were second among all league skaters. He fired 16 shots on net and scored one game-winning goal and one power-play strike.

PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE MONTH

Bennett Schimek - Providence
Forward; Mendota Heights, Minn.

Bennett Schimek exploded in the final three games of 2022, compiling four goals and two assists for six points. His offensive output propelled the Friars to the Ledyard Classic crown and he was named tournament MVP for his efforts. No league freshman had more goals or points than Schimek did in five games in December. He also finished with a +6 rating and scored shootout goals in both games against Boston College (Dec. 2-3).

ARMY ROTC DEFENDER OF THE MONTH

Domenick Fensore - Boston University
Senior; Thornwood, N.Y.

Domenick Fensore captained the Terriers to a 4-1-0 December record. He led all Hockey East blueliners in goals (4) and points (7) and tallied a league-best three game-winning goals with two of the three winners coming in the third period or overtime, including a goal in OT to push BU past No. 9 Harvard. Fensore generated a league-high 26 shots on goal and was the only Hockey East player to average over five shots on goal per game (5.20). He ended the month on a seven game point streak (5g, 4a).

STOP IT GOALTENDING GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH

Victor Ostman - Maine
Junior; Danderyd, Sweden

Victor Ostman was nearly perfect across three starts in December, earning a 3-0-0 record while he led the NCAA with a .966 save percentage and 0.67 goals against average. He pitched a 22-save shutout on Dec. 10 and allowed just two goals in 179:29 of work.
