HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Liam Walsh - Merrimack
Junior Forward; Bridgeville, Pa.
Walsh was on an absolute tear in the month of January, leading
all Hockey East players with 10 points. He had at least a point
in seven of the Warriors’ eight games and ended the month on a
five-game point streak that included four goals and three assists
for seven points. He was also named Hockey East Player of the
Week on Jan. 24 after a four-point weekend sweep of then-#10/9
UMass Lowell. He scored his four goals on just nine shots and
helped lead Merrimack into the national rankings.

PRO AMBITIONS ROOKIE OF THE MONTH
Scott Morrow - Massachusetts
Defenseman; Darien, Conn.
Morrow currently sits second among all Hockey East skaters with
18 points in league play off 8 goals and 10 assists after posting a
4-5--9 overall stat line in eight games in January. His nine points
tied for fifth nationally among all rookies and second of first-year
defenders. He scored one game-winning goal and ended the
month on a five-game point streak with two tallies and four helpers in that span. He enjoyed two multi-point outings, including a
two-goal, one-assist performance against Merrimack on Jan. 3
in a non-conference match up. His 1.1250 points per game was
seventh among all NCAA rookies in January.

HOCKEY EAST DEFENDER OF THE MONTH
Colton Huard - New Hampshire
Freshman; Welland, Ont.
Huard posted four goals and five assists for nine points over five
games during the month of January as the Wildcats went 4-1-0.
His nine points ranked fourth among all NCAA defenders, while
his 1.66 points per game was first nationally among all freshmen
skaters. He was also second on the team with six blocks. He
recorded at least one point in every game in the month. Huard
was named the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week on the
Jan. 10 and the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week
on Jan. 17. On Jan. 8 in the 5-1 win over Clarkson, Huard tallied
one goal and three assists for four points. Huard is currently on a
six-game point streak with four goals and six assists for 10 points
during that span.

STOP IT GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH
Drew Commesso - Boston University Sophomore; Norwell, Mass.
Commesso earns his second consecutive nod as Stop It Goalten-
der of the Month. In seven January starts before leaving for Beijing
as a goaltender for the U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Tea, the
sophomore went 6-1-0 with a .946 save percentage and a 1.70
goals-against average. His save percentage was tops among all
Hockey East netminders and seventh in the nation. He recorded
his first NCAA shutout with a 35-save performance against Vermont
on Jan. 22. Commesso also recorded a pair of 36-save victories
as well as a 32-save performance at then-No. 9/8 UMass.
