WAKEFIELD, Mass. - The Hockey East Association is proud to announce that a record 161 male student-athletes have been named to the league's 2018-19 All-Academic Team. Each student-athlete achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the academic periods during which he was actively competing during the 2018-19 season.

Four players earned the prestigious honor of being named Hockey East's Top Scholar-Athlete, compiling a perfect 4.0 GPA for the season. Those skaters include Mitchell Fossier (Alpharetta, Ga./Maine), Owen Grant (Ottawa, Ont./Vermont), Griff Jeszka (Muskego, Wis./Merrimack), and Chase Olsen (Olds, Alta./Merrimack). Six players reached "Distinguished Scholar" status in 2018-19, having qualified for the All-Academic team in each of four seasons of varsity play, while 35 others are three-time honorees.

Additionally, Hockey East named the eight players selected to t he 2018-19 All-Academic All Star Team, comprised of the students with the highest GPA at their respective positions. The team is comprised of goaltenders Logan Halladay (Cary, N.C./Merrimack) and Joe Lazzaro (Hampstead, N.H./New Hampshire), defensemen Johnathan Kovacevic (Grimsby, Ont./Merrimack) and Keith Muehlbauer (Apple Valley, Minn./Maine), and forwards Fossier, Jeszka, Grant, and Olsen.
