AMESBURY, Mass. - Hockey East will be represented by a record number of players, staff, and officials at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games set to take place from February 4-22 in Milan and Cortina, Italy. The Olympians include alumni from all 12 member institutions and 18 of the 21 programs currently competing in Hockey East. A full list of representatives can be found below.
The United States leads the way with 10 men and eight women named to the American Olympic rosters, including five of the six goaltenders. Additionally, the entire U.S. men’s coaching staff developed at Hockey East institutions, as head coach Mike Sullivan and assistant coaches John Hynes and David Quinn played at Boston University, while assistant coach John Tortorella played at Maine prior to the league’s founding. Team USA management is also led by Bill Guerin (Boston College), Tom Fitzgerald (Providence), and Chris Drury (Boston University).
Boston University tops all Hockey East schools with 17 representatives while Northeastern has 11 and Boston College and Maine each claim 10. Providence has six at the Olympics, followed by four from Massachusetts and Merrimack, three from Vermont, two each from Holy Cross, UMass Lowell, and New Hampshire, and one from UConn.
Additionally, four on-ice officials that work in Hockey East were selected to officiate at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, including men’s linesman Nick Briganti, and women’s officials Jennifer Cameron-Ward, Kelly Cooke, and Amanda Tassoni.
