WAKEFIELD, Mass. - The Hockey East Association is proud to announce a record 133 female student-athletes have been named to the league's 2017-18 All-Academic Team. Each student-athlete achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during which she was actively competing.

Seven athletes from four different schools earned the prestigious honor of being named Hockey East's Top Scholar-Athlete, compiling a perfect 4.0 GPA for the season. Those players include goaltender Lea-Kristine Demers (Repentigny, Que./Merrimack), defensemen Chloe Gonsalves (Toronto, Ont./Providence) and Paige Sorensen (Plymouth, Minn./Merrimack), and forwards Annie Boeckers (Otsego, Minn./Merrimack), Catherine Crawley (Washingtonville, N.Y./UConn), Kourtney Menches (Greer, S.C./ Vermont), and Madison Morey (Fairbanks, Alaska/Merrimack). Nine players reached "Distinguished Scholar" status in 2017-18, having qualified for the All-Academic team in each of four seasons of varsity play, while 32 others are three-time honorees.
