Northeastern senior goaltender Aerin Frankel (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) posted back-to-back shutouts against Maine to claim the Huskies’ program record for career shutouts, pitching her 20th and 21st perfect games. Ani FitzGerald (Shaker Heights, Ohio) scored her first collegiate goal on Sunday, while Chloé Aurard, NU (Villard-de-Lans, France) netted the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Monday afternoon.

Vermont picked up a pair of home wins over Holy Cross last weekend, exploding for 10 goals over two outings. Junior Corinne McCool (West Roxbury, Mass.) had two goals and an assist, while Jessie McPherson (Chatham, Ont.) made 17 saves in her NCAA debut Friday to became just the first freshman goaltender to earn a shutout in her debut for Vermont since Molly Depew accomplished the feat in 2014.

Holy Cross earned the program’s first ever win over New Hampshire on Wednesday, 5-2, in Worcester. Rookie forward Bryn Saarela (Denver, Colo.) scored one goal and added two assists in the victory and added four blocked shots in three games last week for Holy Cross.

Aerin Frankel - Northeastern

Aerin Frankel (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) posted back-to- back shutouts in a two-game sweep of Maine, setting Northeastern’s career shutout record with her 20th and 21st blank sheets in a Huskies’ uniform. The senior had a 16-save shutout on Sunday in a 3-0 win over Maine and a 21-stop perfect game on Monday. In four starts, Frankel has allowed just three goals.

Bryn Saarela - Holy Cross

Bryn Saarela (Denver, Colo.) scored one goal and added two assists in a 5-2 win over New Hampshire on Wednesday, marking the first time the Crusaders have downed the Wildcats in program history. She added four blocked shots in three games last week for Holy Cross.

Jessie McPherson - Vermont

Jessie McPherson (Chatham, Ont.) made 17 saves Friday against Holy Cross to earn a shutout in her first career start for the Catamounts. She became just the first freshman goaltender to earn a shutout in her debut for Vermont since Molly Depew accomplished the feat in 2014.


HOCKEY EAST TOP PERFORMERS

Loryn Porter, ME (Sr., G; North Bay, Ont.) Kicked out 84 of 88 shots she faced in a pair of games at Northeastern, including 40 of 41 in a 1-0 setback on Monday.

Ani FitzGerald, NU (Fr., F; Shaker Heights, Ohio) Scored her first collegiate goal on Sunday, securing a 3-0 win for the Huskies over Maine.

Chloé Aurard, NU (Villard-de-Lans, France) Scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Maine on Monday afternoon.

Corinne McCool, UVM (Jr., F; West Roxbury, Mass.) Had two goals and an assist last weekend, leading the Catamounts’ impressive offensive output this weekend as her team netted 10 goals in two games of a weekend sweep of Holy Cross.

Anna Erickson, UVM (Sr., D; Stillwater, Minn.) In her first action of the 2020-21 campaign Erickson had one goal and two assists to lead the Catamounts to a weekend sweep over the Holy Cross Crusaders this weekend. She also added three shot blocks.
