BURLINGTON, Vt. - Freshman Cole Hutson and junior Quinn Hutson tallied three points apiece to help lead the No. 10/9 Boston University men's ice hockey team to a 6-1 win at Vermont on Saturday night at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
BU (20-12-2, 14-8-2 HE) jumped out to a 2-0 lead and never looked back, eventually holding a 4-0 lead through two periods. Vermont (11-20-3, 6-16-2 HE) got a goal back early in the third period, but the Terriers scored the final two goals of the night to secure the win.

Freshman Cole Eiserman scored his 20th goal of the season and had the primary assist on Quinn's 20th goal of the campaign while junior Ryan Greene and sophomore Tom Willander recorded two assists apiece. Freshman Mikhail Yegorov was once again terrific between the pipes, making several nice stops as part of his 21-save performance.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Keenan Rancier was terrific for the Catamounts in the early going, as he made several spectacular stops to keep BU off the board.
- The Terriers finally broke through at the 13:13 mark during a 5-on-3 power play. After a scramble at the net, Lachance got the puck out to Eiserman in front and the freshman buried it for his 20th goal of the season.
- Q. Hutson doubled the lead with 4:35 left in the first with a fantastic wrister that beat Rancier short side above his left shoulder.
- The Hutsons then combined to triple the lead to 3-0 at 7:56 of the second stanza. During 4-on-4 play, Quinn broke the puck out up the left wing and skated all the way in before saucering a pass past a defender and onto the stick of Cole, who one-touched it past Rancier at the right post.
- Kaplan then made it 4-0 with 2:46 to play in the second when Willander found him alone in the right circle. Kaplan made no mistake for his 10th goal of the season.
- UVM got on the board just 2:25 into the third period.
- Hughes restored the Terriers' four-goal edge at the 8:24 mark after a nifty give-and-go with Copponi.
- Q. Hutson finished the scoring with 4:57 remaining in regulation. Eiserman drove to the net and had his backhander turned aside, but Hutson was at the left post to knock home the rebound.
