BURLINGTON, Vt.- Sophomore goaltender Mattie Robitzer earned her first career win as she posted 18 saves to lead the No. 14 Northeastern women's hockey team to a 3-1 victory over the Vermont Catamounts on Saturday afternoon.
- Northeastern led in shots on goal 9-4 after the first period, but neither side found the back of the net.
- The Catamounts jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second with a power-play goal at the 4:09 mark.
- The Huskies went on to score three unanswered goals in the third period to claim the eventual victory.
- Junior Lily Shannon evened the score at 1-1 with her 14th goal of the season with assists from freshman Éloïse Caron and senior Taylor Guarino.
- Senior Taze Thompson then potted the eventual game-winner just 37 seconds after Shannon's tally. Thompson's goal was assisted by junior Lily Brazis and senior Tory Mariano.
- Senior Skylar Irving closed out the scoring with an empty-net goal to seal the Huskies' 3-1 victory, with an assist from graduate student Jaden Bogden.
- Robitzer made her second career start in net for the Huskies and picked up her first career win.
Northeastern will next face the fourth-seeded Providence College Friars on Saturday, March 1 at Schneider Arena in the Hockey East Quarterfinals.
