North Andover, MA.-- The Merrimack College men's ice hockey team scored in the final minute to take 4-3 win and pick up a weekend split over the Vermont Catamounts on a snowy Friday senior night at Lawler Arena.
Merrimack (13-16-1, 9-10-1): 4, Vermont (11-14-3, 6-10-2 HEA): 3
In the pregame senior day ceremonies, the Warriors honored #10 Mark Hillier, #22 Michael Citara and #26 Ivan Zivlak.
In the first period, Vermont would break through first with a goal at the 9:05 mark of the first, but the Warriors would equalize under a minute later as Caelan Fitzpatrick would clean up the garbage in front to tie the score. However, the Catamounts would take the lead back four minutes later and they would carry that lead to the room after 20 minutes.
In the second period, the Warriors would tie the score at two as Cam Kungle hit the pass across to Trevor Griebel who would hit a speeding Nick Pierre down the middle and he would convert on a breakaway that would stand after a Vermont coaches challenge.
In the third, Vermont would retake the lead for the third time in the evening, but Merrimack would show their resilience once again as Seamus Powell's point shot would be deflected by Caden Cranston five hole to tie the game at three. In the final minute, Merrimack would be awarded a powerplay and would cash in as Caden Cranston would score his second of the game in the final 30 seconds to win the game for Merrimack.

- Pierre also had two assists, along with Seamus Powell.
- Trevor Griebel, Cam Kungle, Ivan Zivlak, and Ryan O'Connell all had assists.
- Max Lundgren made 33 saves.
- Harrison Roy and Antonio Venuto played their 150th NCAA games tonight.
