PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's hockey team defeated No. 14/14 UConn, 4-2, on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Schneider Arena in Providence, R.I. With the win, the Friars improved to 19-10-3 overall and 15-8-2 in Hockey East play. The Huskies dropped to 19-11-2 and 17-6-2 in conference action. Providence came from behind in both games this weekend to sweep UConn.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- The Huskies opened the scoring 14:43 into the first period when Sophie Robinson found the net through traffic after a faceoff win. Claire Murdoch and Ashley Allard earned the assists.
- Early in the second period, Jessie Pellerin (Bowmanville, Ontario) tied the game for Providence, with helpers from Ashley Clark (North Weymouth, Mass.) and Kiara Kraft (Churchville, N.Y.).
- Both teams had a power-play opportunity in the period but couldn't convert.
- The Huskies regained the lead in the third with a goal from Megan Woodworth, assisted by Brianna Ware and Christina Walker.
- Just past the midway point, Millie Sirum (Oslo, Norway) evened the score at two, with Kayla Kutes (Kirkland, Wa.) picking up the assist. Sirum scored in both games over the weekend.
- Less than two minutes later, Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point, Wis.) gave the Friars a 3-2 lead, assisted by Reichen Kirchmair (Oakville, Ontario) and Lily Martinson (Allen, Texas). Knapp remained the league leader in scoring, while Kirchmair extended her point streak to six games.
- Hannah Johnson (Readfield, Maine) secured the 4-2 win with an empty-net goal. Kirchmair added her second assist of the game, marking her ninth multi-point effort this season.
- Goalie Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) stopped 27 shots in the win.
- The Friars earned their seventh win over a ranked team this season, marking the most since 2009-10.
- Providence improved to 17-1-0 when scoring at least three goals and 9-0-0 when scoring four-or-more.
- The Friar have posted a 13-2-0 record with Knapp scores a goal.
- The Friars improved their home record to 13-3-2 this season.
- Providence won the regular-season series against UConn, 2-1-0 and improved to 51-27-12 all-time against the Huskies.
