PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The No. 7/7 Providence College men's ice hockey team defeated No. 9/8 Boston University on Friday (Feb. 14), winning 6-3 at Schneider Arena. Alexander Bales (East Amherst, N.Y.) posted a career-high four points in the win with a goal and three assists.

- Providence opened the scoring 7:09 into the first period, when Trevor Connelly (Tustin, Calif.) collected the puck in the neutral zone from Tanner Adams (Northport, N.Y.) before skating through the Terriers' side of the ice, crashing the net and beating Yegorov blocker-side to make it 1-0. Alexander Bales earned the secondary assist on the feed from the Providence zone.
- The Friars doubled their advantage just over four minutes later, when Chase Yoder (Fairview, Texas) won the puck on the forecheck, stick-lifting Boston's Ryan Greene behind the net before cashing in on a wrap-around effort, giving Providence the 2-0 lead.
- The Terriers cut the lead in half 5:46 into the second period, as BU's Ryan Greene finished on a one-timer feed, capitalizing on the power-play.
- Just 20 seconds later, Providence regained their two-goal lead, as Hudson Malinoski (Saskatoon, Sask.) finished on a rebound in the crease, putting the Friars ahead 3-1. Adams and Bales were each credited assists on the play.
- With 3:31 to go in the middle frame, the Friars found their fourth goal of the night, as Bales put the puck on net from the left face-off circle, deflecting off a Yegorov skate and into the net, pushing the Providence lead to 4-1. With the goal, Yegorov's night came to an end, as the Terriers subbed in senior netminder Mathieu Caron.
- The Friars extended their lead 12:53 into the third period, as John Mustard (Oradell, N.J.) took a pass from Nick Poisson (Vancouver, B.C.) before firing on net, beating Caron high glove-side to cushion the Providence lead at 5-1.
- The Terriers got one back just under a minute later while on the power-play, as Devin Kaplan finished on a Quinn Hutson feed in the slot, making it a 5-2 affair.
- Just under two minutes later, Devin Kaplan got his second of the game, as he collected the feed in the neutral zone before skating around traffic and finding the back of the net, cutting the Friars' lead to a pair of goals.
- With 1:17 to go in the period, Taige Harding (St. Albert, Alta.) took a feed at the blue line from Aleksi Kivioja (Espoo, Finland), where he fired on the empty net to secure the 6-3 win for the Friars.
- With the win, the Friars snap a nine-game winless streak against Boston University, dating back to the Friars' last win over the Terriers on Jan. 8, 2021 at Walter Brown Arena. The Friars' 6-3 win over the Terriers marked the first loss for Boston University at Schneider Arena since their 6-5 defeat on Dec. 9, 2019.
- Philip Svedebäck (Vaxjo, Sweden) was strong in the win, denying 30-of-33 shots on net, good for a .909 save percentage.
- Ten different Friars found the back of the net in the win, headlined by a one-goal, three-assist performance from Bales, setting a new career-high with his four-point outing. Hudson Malinoski and Tanner Adams each finished with a pair of points while seven other players finished with one point.
- Seventeen different Friars landed a shot on net in the win, headlined by three-shot showings from Hudson Malinoski, Will Elger, Clint Levens, and Austen May.
