ORONO, Maine - The #6 University of Maine men's ice hockey team earned a 3-2 win over #20 UMass on Sunday afternoon at Alfond Arena.
The Minutemen took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period but Brandon Holt wired home a goal with 36 seconds remaining for an even score at the first intermission.
Just over a minute into the second period, Josh Nadeau put the Black Bears up only to see UMass respond less than a minute later. Taylor Makar's 10th goal of the season midway through the middle frame gave Maine the lead again and Albin Boija made 12 saves in the third period to secure the 3-2 final.
