PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's hockey team defeated University of Maine, 3-2, in overtime on Friday, Jan. 31 at Schneider Arena in Providence, R.I. The Friars improve to 15-9-3 on the season and 11-7-2 in Hockey East play, while Maine dropped to 8-19-1 overall and 7-13-1 in Hockey East. Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point, Wis.) scored her first-career hat-trick in the win.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- The teams skated scoreless through the first period with Maine outshooting the Friars, 10-4. Each team had two opportunities on the power-play but failed to convert.
- In the second period, the Black Bears converted on the power-play from Sam Morrison to give Maine a 1-0 advantage. Kendall Sundby and Adriana Van De Leest earned the assists.
- Providence equalized 3:28 into the third period on an even strength goal from Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point. Wis.) for her 12th goal of the season. - The Black Bears re-gained the lead less than four minutes later on a breakaway goal from Haley Ryan. Danielle Brunette earned the assist.
- With 4:05 remaining in regulation, Knapp found the back of the net on a feed from Reichen Kirchmair (Oakville, Ontario) for her second goal of the game. Johnson recorded her second assist of the game.
- The two teams headed to overtime, marking the second-consecutive overtime game for Providence and their seventh of the season.
- Knapp secured her first career hat-trick and the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Friars the 3-2 victory. Kirchmair and Cavaliere each earned their second assist of the afternoon on the goal.
