PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's hockey team defeated University of Maine, 3-2, in overtime on Friday, Jan. 31 at Schneider Arena in Providence, R.I. The Friars improve to 15-9-3 on the season and 11-7-2 in Hockey East play, while Maine dropped to 8-19-1 overall and 7-13-1 in Hockey East. Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point, Wis.) scored her first-career hat-trick in the win.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- The teams skated scoreless through the first period with Maine outshooting the Friars, 10-4. Each team had two opportunities on the power-play but failed to convert.
- In the second period, the Black Bears converted on the power-play from Sam Morrison to give Maine a 1-0 advantage. Kendall Sundby and Adriana Van De Leest earned the assists.
- Providence equalized 3:28 into the third period on an even strength goal from Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point. Wis.) for her 12th goal of the season. Hannah Johnson (Readfield, Maine) and Cristina Cavaliere (Mississauga, Ontario) each picked up assists on the goal. Knapp and Johnson each have points in their last three games.
- The Black Bears re-gained the lead less than four minutes later on a breakaway goal from Haley Ryan. Danielle Brunette earned the assist.
- With 4:05 remaining in regulation, Knapp found the back of the net on a feed from Reichen Kirchmair (Oakville, Ontario) for her second goal of the game. Johnson recorded her second assist of the game.
- The two teams headed to overtime, marking the second-consecutive overtime game for Providence and their seventh of the season.
- Knapp secured her first career hat-trick and the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Friars the 3-2 victory. Kirchmair and Cavaliere each earned their second assist of the afternoon on the goal.
