ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team completed the weekend and series sweep of the University of New Hampshire Wildcats on Saturday at Alfond Arena.
Four different goal scorers contributed to the Black Bears victory in Haley Ryan, Adriana van de Leest, Raegan Wurm and Mikayla Boarder. Mikayala Boarder scored the game-winner to seal the deal for the Black Bears.
The back-and-forth battle came with five first period goals, as Maine held the 3-2 lead. The second period brought a goal apiece for the Wildcats and Black Bears, but Maine was able to hold their lead throughout the final period.
Stephanie Jacob, Sam Morrison, Mira Seregely, Jamie Grinder and Lila Shea each tallied an assist.
Julia Bachetti earned the win between the pipes for Maine, making 21 saves.
Maine outshot UNH 39-28. Maine has now won six of their last eight contests.
The last time Maine swept UNH was in October of 2022.
