Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College Women's Hockey defeated the Providence Friars 2-1 in overtime on Saturday afternoon at Kelley Rink.
Boston College took a 1-0 late in the first period when Jenna Carpenter netted a goal from the slot at 15:31.
The teams traded chances throughout the second period with neither side finding the back of the net giving the Eagles a 1-0 advantage heading into the final frame.
Providence tied it up six minutes into the final frame, but neither side could break the tie sending the game to overtime.
Julia Pellerin recorded the game-winning goal 30 seconds into overtime.
