NO. ANDOVER, Mass. - Sophomore forward Ty Daneault scored the game's first goal but Merrimack was defeated by Brown, 5-1, on Tuesday night at Lawler Rink.

Daneault gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead 11:55 into the first period on Merrimack's second power play opportunity of the period. Seamus Powell and Caden Cranston picked up the assists on Daneault's sixth goal of the season.

Max Scott tallied his 11th of the season with less than a minute remaining in the first on the power play. The captain finished a feed from Brian Nicholas to push his goal streak to three games. Ryan St. Louis added the secondary assist on the goal.

Dean Bauchiero broke the deadlock 8:18 into the middle frame with his second goal of the season. Tanner Hartman collected a pass from Mike Cataldo below the goal line and found Bauchiero on the back door to beat Merrimack goaltender Nils Wallstrom (25 saves).

Cataldo tallied his first goal of the season 5:28 into the third to extend Brown's lead to 3-1. The sophomore got to the front of the net and redirected Alex Pineau's point shot to beat Wallstrom. Ethan Mistry added the secondary assist on the goal.

St. Louis added a goal later in the period to push the score to 4-1, tipping a point shot from Tony Andreozzi for his third goal of the season. Nick Traggio picked up the secondary assist on the goal.

Bauchiero sealed the victory with an empty net goal with 2:36 remaining. The junior collected a pass from Scott and rifled a shot the length of the ice to the unguarded net.

Lawton Zacher was strong from the start and finished the night with 20 saves.
