Boston College Defeats Harvard, 4-1, In Women's Beanpot Third-Place Game

BOSTON, Mass. - The Boston College Eagles defeated the Harvard Crimson 4-1 in the third place game of the 46th Women's Beanpot on Tuesday night at TD Garden.

The Eagles set the tone early, netting three goals in the first 20 minutes of play.

Julia Pellerin recorded the first goal of the afternoon less than five minutes into the game giving BC an early lead. Pellerin scored from the high slot after collecting a pass from Molly Jordan at the point.

Three minutes later, Jordan earned her first goal and second point of the afternoon. Jordan shot one from the top of the slot, finding the net off of passes from Kate Ham and Katie Pyne.

Pyne tallied her first goal and second point of the game with less than eight minutes remaining in the first. Scoring on a breakaway, Pyne buried one off a pass from Ham to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead heading into the second.

The Crimson and the Eagles battled through the second period scoreless.

Alanna Devlin netted a shorthanded goal with just over 13 minutes to go in the third, tallying the Eagles' final goal of the afternoon. Devlin scored from the high slot after collecting a backhand pass behind the net from Sammy Taber.

With just over five minutes remaining in gameplay, Harvard's Maria Pape tapped one past Grace Campbell during a Crimson power play.

Grace Campbell ended the night with 25 saves.
