BOSTON - Senior Skylar Irving's power-play goal in the third frame lifted the No. 15 Northeastern women's hockey team to a 3-1 win over Merrimack on Friday evening at Matthews Arena. The win marked the Huskies first of 2025 and 11th victory on the season.
- The Huskies drew first blood after junior Lily Brazis got on the score sheet with under a minute remaining in the second period. Brazis' third goal of the season was assisted by senior Taze Thompson and sophomore Ella Blackmore.
- Merrimack evened the score at 1-1 early in the third frame. Irving had the answer for the Huskies with a power-play goal at the 8:39 mark. Irving's tally, assisted by junior Jules Constantinople and graduate student Jaden Bogden, was the eventual game-winner for the Huskies.
- Bogden capped off the scoring with her fourth empty-net goal of the season to bring the final score to 3-1 in favor of the Huskies. Bogden's goal was assisted by freshman Tuva Kandell.
- Freshman Lisa Jönsson posted 18 saves in her seventh victory of the season.
Northeastern will next host Holy Cross on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
