ORONO, Maine - Sixth-ranked Denver scored with 20 seconds to go in the third period to edge the #7 University of Maine men's hockey team, 2-1, on Friday night at Alfond Arena.
After a scoreless first period, the Pioneers got the scoring started with a power-play goal three minutes into the middle frame. The Black Bears responded in the final 90 seconds of the frame, with Frank Djurasevic putting home a power-play tally of his own.
The teams then played nearly another scoreless period before a Denver point shot found its way through traffic and inside the right post for the 2-1 win.
