ORONO, Maine - The #5 University of Maine men's ice hockey team completed a sweep of the Stonehill Skyhawks with a 4-2 win on Sunday afternoon at Alfond Arena.
Four different Black Bears scored in the non-conference win, including Thomas Pichette with the first of his career.
Pichette opened the scoring under three minutes into the contest. Stonehill responded two minutes later but Thomas Freel put Maine back up, 2-1, in the final minute of the opening stanza. A Josh Nadeau power-play goal early in the second period and a Frank Djurasevic strike seven minutes into the third period would be the insurance the Black Bears needed. Stonehill put one more goal in but the Black Bears held on for the 4-2 win.
